No, but like Bear Bryant having his name on the football COY, the Women's Basketball Coach of the Year award should absolutely become the Pat Summitt Award.

The AP's football national title trophy has also been named after Bryant since his death.

it's also painfully obvious though that Geno is a douche bag. Summitt is the better person all around.

Yeah but without Pat there probably wouldn't have been a Geno or UConn...and on a side note...how the hell can you get down voted 13 times by simply adding a petition to a site? U guys some ruthless SOBs

Primacy doesn't give you credit for the accomplishments of those that came after you and surpassed you. Otherwise, there would be no Phil Jackson without Del Harris and Doug Collins.

It's a championship trophy, not a humanitarian award. Racist arse Adolph Rupp has an award named after him. Precedence has been set.

Someone said that Wooden was on the POY and the men's championship trophy... but I haven't been able to find that anywhere.
