Better coach, with less talented players. Sure Bama might win tomorrow, but the Huskies have the advantage on both sides of the ball. Look for an early score by Bama to set the tone, but Washington coming right back down the field with some points of their own. Should be a good game but after closely analyzing both teams this season, I give the dogs a slight edge.

Final Score:

Gumps - 17

Washington - 30

Your team has a huge Citrus Bowl game tomorrow in the preferred JP time slot and you've got Bama swirling around in your little pea-sized brain.

Different personalities fit better in NFL/college coaching. It's not a slight at him for being dominant in one and average in the other.

He could out coach Saban and still get killed because he can't Come close to Saban in recruiting .

Single dumbest statement in the history of this site.

I think Saban is probably the best overall college football coach in history. It doesn't mean other coaches can't be better than him at certain facets.

It was a pathetic offensive game plan. If we roll that one out tomorrow, it will be a blowout.

Yes he's won way more championships than Saban could ever ....wait.....stupid thread.

This argument is unfair to Petersen considering his Boise teams never got a shot to play for the title. I disagree with the premise of the OP, but I wouldn't use this argument to support it. Petersen is a great gameplanner and Xs and Os coach, but recruiting is at least an equal part of it and Saban is unmatched in that department.

Also the Pac 12 has been horrible in the bowls, which could be an indicator that this game is even more of a mismatch than it first appeared, and that Penn State might steamroll USC.

Petersen is a great owner of a small business.

Saban is a CEO of a Fortune 500 company.

Saban may not be able to replicate Petersen's success at smaller schools, but is is unlikely Petersen would be able to replicate Saban's success at a big school. I think Petersen is great when coaching kids who have chips on their shoulder. Highly doubt he could deal with 5 star primadonna.

No need to compare the two like that. They are both great coaches, one of them has a bunch of hardware.
The only way the Huskies can keep it close is Peterson, dude knows how to coach in big games.

That said I don't see Bama not winning this game.

I personally think Bama will win, but I do not think it's going to be a repeat of last year's MSU game like many are predicting. Petersen's brought supposedly undermatched teams to play against the big boys when he was at Boise before. He's shown he can coach a team that's supposed to be overmatched to win a game before. And Washington has some decent talent, especially in the secondary. I can see Hurts making some mistakes against them that can swing the game.

If that's the one wildcard Petersen has, is he's been in this situation many times before. And Petersen may even be a better in-game coach than Saban. But where Saban wins is recruiting, attention to detail, and program building. He's a better coach Sunday-Friday and in the offseason, and that's what makes him the GOAT.

I'm really looking forward to see what becomes of this, because I think many are thinking Bama is going to roll by 40 and I don't see a Petersen coached team allowing that to happen.

came here to say this. It wouldn't be the first time Saban was outcoached this season.

I think Peterson may be the best X's and O's coach in the country and is extremely good at identifying and developing the talent he has. Unfortunately, Saban is just as good with X's and O's and develops 5 star talent to their potential better than any coach in the history of college football.

Other teams may have more or better players in the NFL but Alabama does an amazing job of developing their guys to the absolute best of their ability when playing football at the university of Alabama.

USC found a QB and had better athletes all over the field. Adoree Jackson had so much make up speed he baited browning into an easy pick because Browning has a weak arm. Browning will not be able to make consistent throws against Alabamas almost NFL level defense.

Alabama rolls in the peach bowl.
