Pete Carroll is a straight monster.

The team he put together in Seattle is just sick. It's like everyone else they play is peewee or some shite.

Best coach in America.

Richard Gere is a good coach. I still like Saban better.

Carroll accomplished what Saban can only dream about.......winning both a B C S championship and a Super Bowl.

Btw,,,,,,the only reason Saban beat Texas in that BCS championship is Texas lost their QB in the first series.

Carroll

Saban's trying to catch up. Hiring Kiffin (like Carroll did) is his first step. Probation is next.

Even before the SB it wasn't much of a debate who was better. Now after the SB people are still asking?

After 6 years in the NFL Carrol was 2 games under .500 at 47-49.

Carrol's a great coach and so is Saban.

Belichick was 41-55 after 6 years in the NFL.

One is a great coach, the other is a great college coach.

One wins when talent is as equal as possible the other only wins with supreme talent. These arguments are so fricking stupid. If Nick Saban compared to any Top 20 coach in the NFL he would still be an NFL coach, plain and simple.

You might want to go back and read history. USC BCS was vacated because Carroll ran a dirty program and was hammered right after he left.

"Greatest Overall Coach of All Time" is a pretty wild comparison. If you want to go by performance on both the college AND pro level, then you basically compare Jimmy Johnson, Barry Switzer, and Pete Carroll and decide from them.

This means you leave out Bear Bryant, Don Shula, Vince Lombardi, Knute Rockne, etc. Let me know who you come up with.

Actually I kinda like having a coach everyone else hates because he's so good.

When someone else is walking around with 4 national title rings, we can talk about how they stack up.

Till then, take your beatings like men.

So I can accept Carroll's BCS championship is controversial, so I'll revise my quote.

"Carroll accomplished what Saban can only dream about.......a former top winning college coach, winning a Super Bowl."

Pete Carroll, and it's not even close. Pete's proven himself at the highest level. Carroll is great in all phases of the game. Saban wins at the college level because he is a great recruiter and just out-talents everyone else with a bunch of kids who fear him. But he leaves a lot to be desired as an X & O guy, and doesn't know how deal with grown men, which is why he failed in the NFL.
