Exactly. A conf champ is a conf champ. It means something, but it's not the same as playing for the title. If 9-2 is automatically worse than 10-1 we are back to playing powder puff off season games.

That's a risky strategy. If PSU had beaten Pitt, UM had beaten Iowa, or OU had beaten UH they would've ended up ranked ahead of UW due to UW's weaker strength of record.

After Bama beat the piss out of Michigan State last season, the committee wasn't gonna send Penn St to the playoffs. Its just that simple. Plus they want Meyer and Ohio State and so do I. There's a chance for retribution for 2014 and I'd love for Coach Saban to force Meyer to fake another heart attack.

It makes zero sense to have a conference championship game going forward.

Non conference is a good comparison when there isn't a H2H available. In this case, there was. Penn State got fricked.

Head to head doesn't erase a second loss. Penn state fricked themselves for losing 2 games.

Such a stupid post. I bet every penn state person is glad they had a conference championship game. I know I was glad in 2002 and 2005.

They get a trip and cool prizes. More like a bowl game now.

Head to head is the tiebreaker with the same Number of losses and Quality wins.

I seem to remember Oklahoma making the BCS title game in 2003 after getting blown out in the Big 12 championship game, yet you think Bama set the precedent.

Nebraska set the precedent in 2001.

I think that might have played into it. But honestly, isn't that how most of us think the Washington game will go?
