OMG great pic.

CBS showed Gus on sideline when Jeremy fumbled backwards and the look on his face was priceless....just pure frustration. Some days are like that.

What I saw watching the past two games, Awburns defense is small and soft. I don't know where all these top recruits are they are supposed to have. Maybe if a year or two Muschamp can get them back up to par.

Malzahn is the catch lightning in a bottle type coach. As long as his down years are 7,8,9 wins than he will get a pass until they can make that run every so often.
This is pretty much our m.o. no matter who is HC. Bowden, Tubs and Chiz all had major meltdown years in '98, '08 and '12, leading to their dismissal. Tubs would have been gone following his '03 fiasco if not for the uncovering of the Petrino coup.

I like Malzahn, and if he can at least keep us from having one of those kind of years and get us to semi-respectability and a minor bowl I'm okay with that. Muschamp is no miracle worker, so I didn't expect major improvement on defense this year anyway - I just didn't imagine JJ would be so Godawful.

Side note: love the pigs in this thread falling all over themselves at Gustav's failure. As if they didn't have a $20 million mistake of their own to deal with. At least Malzahn admits we're a dumpster fire instead of trying to distract his irate fanbase by getting into a pissing contest with the guy who just embarrassed him on his own field.

AU's consistency in being so up and down over time is almost fascinating. Just meteoric rises followed by colossal crashes. Damm.

They are the streakiest, most up and down, program in college football. When they are on, they are very, very good. When they are bad they are very, very bad. It seems to be one or the other...just polar opposite seasons.

Finbaum is exactly right here. He oversold a nobody at quarterback and why anybody believed him is their problem. If he was so good he would have started on a pretty average auburn team last year. The fact that the AP put Auburn in the top ten ruins any credibility they had. All of us college real college football fans knew two things before this season, Auburn was not a top ten team, and South Carolina would now have a bad offense to go along with their bad defense and maybe win 5 games. It feels so good to be right, and it was all so obvious.
FYI, Fournette is elite, but his team is just above average. They are getting credit for beating two ranked teams right now, two teams that should have never been ranked. LSU will still lose two or three games.
