Finebaum doesn't know what Kiffin's friends think. He'd like people to think he's more connected than he actually is.

Of course, Finebaum leaves out that he made the same statement after the 2015 and 2016 seasons. I guess he figures if he keeps saying it he'll eventually be right.

Well, he may not be that well connected but, according to him anyway, Ms. Terry did show him around the Saban mansion & she let him peek into Nicky's closet. That is something to brag about, right?

I can explain this. When Saban yelled at Kiffin (happened one time), Finebaum used it to beat it over Saban's head.
He was equating it to the situation at Media Days that Finebaum is still butthurt about when Saban absolutely destroyed Finebaum in a room full of his colleagues and treated him like a little boy.

I wouldn't read into this "marriage is over" quote from Finebaum. He's still emotional and has hurt feelings over the Media Days thing and is using this.

Kiffin knows Saban saved his career and knows he won't get the talent level anywhere else that he has at Alabama.

Could be wrong but I don't think most Alabama faithful would loose any sleep over the departure of Kiffin. He is good but he ain't great. Heck, look at the talent he's had to work with, not to mention a defense that has saved his bacon too many times to count.

A UT grad and former LSU beat writer? Who could love anything about that?

I said they same thing yeaterday and today and it's a total melt. Paul says it today and it's gospel.

FYI-like 20 media sources are repeating the same thing because LK and O have been leaking it everywhere. He's either getting a head coaching job (likely imho-or wrecking shite in Baton Rouge).

The thing is, Alabama will still be Alabama with or without Lane Kiffin.

This is fricking dumb. I guess Lashlee is ready to move on too after his spat with Gus yesterday on live TV. (Gasp)!

I couldn't care less if Kiffin stays or goes, btw.

to expound, there are too many job openings in this cycle not to speculate that the marriage might be over. for example houston would be a good fit for kiffin's skills. even though it is not a p5 program, he could use it as a catapult the same way briles, sumlin, and now herman have used it. who knows what kiffin will actually do, but plenty of things happening not to speculate.

They may butt heads, but it was the best situation for Kiffin. He needed to be humbled some, and what better coach to do that than the pint sized dictator? He will be better because of Saban.

Dear Lane,

If you could go full tard in your last game as Bama OC vs. UF on Saturday, that would be great.

Thanks,

Exactly. And I think Saban knows that. He is also aware that people will come after his coordinators, so I don't think Kiffin leaving would be a blow to him at all. He shook off losing Kirby Smart, who had been with him since day 1 at Alabama.
