Cody and Arenas are bs All American picks; however, the others were solid.

How do you figure?
Cody, maybe. Arenas all the way.

quote:It isn't hard to give props where props are due. This has nothing to do with anti LSU bias, Chad Jones was a great player. Patrick Peterson is a great athlete who has not played to his athletic potential, but LSU fans act like he has, and they freak out if anyone points out the facts that suggest otherwise.

Peterson is way better than Chad Jones will ever be.

Well he has two more years to fully reach his potential.

I think a big part of Arenas success came from playing across from a CB like Kareem Jackson.

And yet Chad Jones single handidly saved wins in the Miss State and Arkansas games for LSU, while PP was directly responsible for crucial scores in two losses, and he was cramping on the sideline in another.

I don't know what else to say to you but Peterson is just a better player.

I don't like the idea either, but I don't think he'll end up being the main guy. He'll probably be one of the two on kick-off returns, but I doubt he'll end up being the punt returner.
the guy was at the 30 before anyone even touched him. he took that one to the house.
And to the guy that mentioned cramps...he cramped up in one game against bama when he had the flu and still made one of the best catches in the game. the other came from julio jones when peterson wasnt even playing. Jones cant hold petersons jock strap.
I bet randle will be much better than jones when it is all said and done.
Arenas is a great player and one that was very responsible for bamas recent success. I guess yall should thank shula for taking a chance on him when others wouldnt.

his quote from after spring game
"I wanted to return kicks since I was a freshman, but I had track stars and other guys in front of me," Peterson said. "I knew I had to wait my time. It was just a matter of time for me to get a chance to shine at the position. It's here now and I've got to make a definite impression."

Don't forget this little display of humility:
"I'm out here to get our guys better," he said. "Right now, they're saying I'm probably the best corner in the nation. I just want to get my receivers ready to go against anybody. So I go out there each and every day to push those guys so those guys can be No. 1 also."
When Peterson was asked if he thought he was the best cornerback in the nation, he replied: ""I definitely feel I'm the best cornerback in the nation."

No he may not be the most humble but for me personally, I want the players on my team to be confident which is exactly what he is. Also, he's trying to make the players on his team better. Don't really see anything wrong with his quote. Just a guy who's confident.

CB's have to have that attitude, but he hasn't arrived yet so he needs to temper it. He has all the potential to be the best, but his play on the field hasn't been the best in the country.

Selfish bastard. going out to make his teammates better. And the fricker has the audacity to think hes the best corner in the nation! What a sham, he shouldnt believe that. No confidence is what he needs.

Ehhh.... he hasn't put up great int and pass defended numbers but you can't underestimate the fact that at times, he can completely shut down one side of the field. He's not as dominant as he could be but if he had bama's front 7 in front of him the possibilities would be endless. Let's be honest, LSU's lack of a dominant front 7 hasn't done PP any favors.
Hopefully he reaches everyone's expectations this year!
