Pat Forde also said Saban would never win a national title at Alabama and he's won 3 and come close several other times.

Pat Forde is a moron.

Saban is probably right about the draft status issue. It should be after the championship.
That being said, any time you bring something up like that, people are going to accuse you of using excuses to cover poor play if you connect such an event with a game you lost.

Kudos to Pattie... that's hard to do when he's camped out under Rick Pitino's skirt all the time. Guess he decided to "blow" something else for a change.

Here's what Nick Saban actually said about last year.
And nobody ever asked him a thing about Ohio St.
quote:
It's going to be a challenge for our team to re-establish the identity that we would like to play with. We want to be more physical, tougher on the line of scrimmage, be relentless in the way that we compete so that we're never affected by what happens in a game, that we can keep playing at a high level on a consistent basis, and that we take care of the ball and do the kind of things to execute with consistency that's going to give our team the best chance to have success. These are things that we need to improve on. We did not finish the season the way we wanted to last year in terms of the way we played. And some of these things, we turned the ball over too much at the end of the season, we gave up too many explosive plays on defense, we gave up too many points because of a combination of all those things. So we need to improve in all those areas.
And nobody ever asked him a thing about Ohio St.

Just the media taking pot shots at Saban. He squarely laid the blame on himself and his coaching staff for losing the Ohio State game. And his thoughts on draft status is spot on. And every coach in America would agree with it but unlike Saban, they don't have the balls to say it.

It's always easy to figure out when ol' Pat has run out of material.
