So let me get this straight, Pat Fitzgerald gets cancelled for a little hazing.
But Brian Kelley’s negligence leads to a student getting killed. Why does society lose its shite about one and not the other?

The Northwestern president explained their stance:

The head coach is ultimately responsible for the culture of his team. The hazing we investigated was widespread and clearly not a secret within the program, providing Coach Fitzgerald with the opportunity to learn what was happening. Either way, the culture in Northwestern Football, while incredible in some ways, was broken in others.
Now, it's entirely possible they jumped the gun, it will be interesting to see if Fitzgerald files a lawsuit for wrongful termination.
In the case of Kelly, as the head football coach, he simply was not responsible for the student video crew.
He was only ever implicated in any wrongdoing in opinion pieces and by trolls on message boards.

That was 13 years ago. You might not like it but the threshold that you need to meet to get someone fired is much lower today than it was back then

Brian Kelly certainly killed UF on his way to a Western division championship in his first season at LSU. Amirite?!!
