Now I'm thinking back to W&L's comment.. something like, "You will have to rename your field."

Ding Ding Ding we have a winner

Rename it? ... or repurpose it?

Any ideas?

BamaScoop, you're right.

It's been confirmed to me by my unnamed sources that Auburn has indeed paid for Cam Newton because Pat Dye didn't appear on the Paul Finebaum Radio Newtork this afternoon.

Please call ESPN's Mark Schlabach and Joe Schad immediately and let them know. This needs to be on the bottom ticker.

I do not hate Auburn it is part of the best Conference in College Football and in all sports as far as that goes. I do not wish anything bad on any of our schools. The thing I have with it is if it is wrong and you all do get caught with wrong doings I hope the best for you but, if you did do wrong I want what is coming to you because that is what happened to USC. In a way this here reminds me of USC and their fans, they did not want to except what was coming to them the longer it took the more hope that they had and the harder it hit them when everything was handed down.

I want for yall and hope for yall to understand that something is up and it does not look good for yall and the SEC and that is when it hurts us all. We all need to understand that when one program in the Conference is hurting it hurts us all and what makes it even worse is yall are not willing to except that maybe something did happen it will make it only worse the more yall do not face it and deal with it up front. If it is nothing wrong you all will be unharmed but if something is wrong then you will be punished more harshly than if you had taken the steps to correct it.

This is what happened with SMU they did not want to do anything with it and did not think anything like that would happen and when it did it hurt a lot of people. The ones hurt the most by something like this is the students and then it's Fans

I hope that Auburn has all their business straight because it is going to get worse before it gets better. Do you think Cam Newton could care less what happens to Auburn after he is gone? Just like Bush he could care less because he will have his and it will be at the price of Auburn and their willing at all cost to win and after all that is what is at the bottom of all this.

You can throw darts at me all you want it will not hurt me, I am just like you sitting behind a keyboard. I am just like you I want what is best for the SEC as a whole and every team in it makes us the best at what we do and I hope for the sake of our Conference we do not aquire the name as the dirtiest Conference in Sports. I hope with all honesty that Auburn is clean and has done no wrong.

Believe it or not, I agree with you. It is bad for the SEC and CFB as a whole.

However - If even a fraction of this is true, it needs to be cleaned up so that the same people in control can't do it again....and again.... and again...

Did I not say this in the very beginning? I to want what is coming to them but, we do not have to keep piling on because if it where LSU I would want the benefit of the doubt given to us because afterall we are all members of the same Conference. I agree with you whole heartedly that something needs to be done because if it is not ti will only keep going. I want it cleaned up but, we need to sit back now and let the powers that be do what they have to do to get it done, one way or the other.

Pat Dye is the guest speaker at the Macon Touchdown Club dinner tonight.

www.macontouchdownclub.com

I know it is not as fun as your little conspiracy theories, but that is why he was not on Finebaum. I also feel pretty sure Finebaum was notified of this, and used it to fuel flames for tomorrow's show.

Carry on...

Blows my mind that people can not see the writing on the wall. First day he misses in 16 years and you think nothing is wrong. Your delusion is beyond pathetic.

There is a possibility, but it is still very unlikely. If it is reported that he doesn't make it to the Macon club, then you are free to conjure up any conspiracy you want.

Seriously does he not have a cell phone? Why would having to leave town prevent him from making a call?

You do realize that phones work anywhere these days don't you? And there are even some you can carry around in your pocket...and they don't even charge long distance!

I mean you could be right. I mean Pat Dye could have been really working on a speech he's probably given over a hundred times. Maybe he got some new material.

I mean I'm sure this is the first time in 16 years he might have been speaking somewhere the same night he was obligated to call into a radio show and shoot the shite for 20 minutes on a Monday afternoon. I mean I know for a touchdown club to meet on a Monday evening is unheard of.

I'm sure the current scandal/investigation had absolutely nothing to do with the old drunk getting muzzled.

It was all a scheduling conflict.
