Part of the charm of "corndogs" is that there's no real factual basis. Sort of just funny because it is. It's not even particularly offensive, just incredibly odd.

Most of the MSU ones, just like the ole miss ones, are embarrassingly horrible. However, I don't mind Moo State at all. It's fricking true. I live like 20 minutes off campus and I pass like 400 cows, some horses, and a few goats on my way to class each day. I am not making this up.

Corndogs is like if we were to call Auburn Trans Fats or Corinthian Leather. It's just so out of left field it's hilarious. And to anyone that throws it around like it's some kind of actual dis, it's an immediate ID for someone that has just been reading the internet recently and really has no clue. The thought of LSU people cooking corndogs when we are pretty much famous for cooking some pretty elaborate tailgating food is just absurd.

I know. It's just so stupid that it's funny.

I don't find that offensive at all. I've seen a few ppl get pissed just over 'Arky' - again not offensive I even refer to us as that.

I don't find either offensive. I think some overly sensitive hogs fans may be offended by 'arky' because it sort of harkens to someone IRL referring to R-Kan-Sas. But I really don't think he meant it disrespectful at the time. Think he just didn't know any better because he's a yankee.

This is true. Used loosely without discretion, it can bring trouble.

Depends a lot on what region of Louisiana you're in. I've known more people to embrace it and almost wear it as a badge of honor than be offended. With that in mind, never make the mistake of using this term with Creole's.

So is it true that some Arky fans have a problem with "Arky"?

I honestly thought this was just an abbreviation like "Bama"

It definitely can make a difference.

I think the ones who were mostly bothered by it have pretty much died. It was a somewhat condescending term two or three+ generations back.
