Coonasses? Less than 6% of Louisiana residents are of French-Acadian ancestry. It is truly stupid that people think all Louisianians are Cajun, and that all Cajuns are LSU fans
i know more than one cajun that will kick your arse if you call them a coon arse. if you come to tiger stadium, or south la. for that matter and have a "yankee" or "redneck" accent, it is probably a good idea to not use that term. just a tip.

I don't find that offensive at all. I've seen a few ppl get pissed just over 'Arky' - again not offensive I even refer to us as that.
(didn't read the thread at first and see Arky has already been mentioned)

Is aggy really supposed to be insulting?
Yes Personally I find the name hilarious. The best is when someone pulls it out IRL conversation or on Facebook. That's when you know they mad. I also never knew Arky was supposed to be insulting, I just used it because it was shorter similar to the usage of Bama

Yes, but when a rival fan refers to the fanbase as a whole with the singular "Aggy" or "Aggie" it's clear what they're referring to, especially given the context when it is usually brought out.
A&M fan: "I think Luke Joeckel could go in the top 10 in the draft next year if he has a good season"
Rival fan: "Damn, Aggy is so delusional"

Exactly. Supposedly refers to our cult-like fanbase. big12 message boards are awash with the term and not even they can really put their finger on why it's supposed to be some sick burn
And count me in with the apparent legion of fans that didn't know "arky" was supposed to be an insult. I shorten "oklahoma" to "okie" as well only because I'm lazy. No disrespect intended, razorbacks

LSU corndogs doesn't make sense. Doesn't really bother me because I don't care. But there is the smell of inebriation, particularly near the student section. So, how about "Bingers" for a nickname since this is most accurate?

This.
We smell like Bourbon. Not Corndogs. It has zero factual basis.

Atleast GUMP is somewhat accurate. Posters like Bham Dore and 1985 have the IQ of Forrest.

It's only because the term "Arkie" or "Okie" originated back during the depression of the 1930's. At the time, it was used in a somewhat derogatory manner by northerners and westerners to describe the impoverished people from the south who relocated to California and other states to pick crops, similar to some similar terms used for illegal Mexicans today.
I was taught this as a kid in grade school.
It doesn't offend me. Not now.

Weird. I have several Cajun friends and acquaintances and they all embrace the term. I've never thought of it as derogatory.
Upig is kinda funny. Arky doesn't offend but don't like it.
Don't use any of the nicknames except occasionally corndog to a good friend who is an LSU grad.

'Corndogs' is funny because it's true.
Spend some time in Lafayette, and you'll understand.

This is true. Used loosely without discretion, it can bring trouble.
