1,2 get byes and don't have to play until New Year's Eve. 3 plays 6 two weeks after conference championship games. Same for 4 playing 5.

5 Conference Champs
1 At Large

What I've always said except I think the committee should be able to decide to keep a conference champ out of the playoffs with 3+ loses.

That's the only way I'd want to move past 4 teams

It makes too much sense for them to do it so they won't. The way it is NOW, the Blue Bloods will ALWAYS get the nod.

They are going to ram Michigan AND OH St down our throats while Wisky or Penn St win that league!

If Auburn and LSU could just win their games, this wouldn't be a problem.

what about when the b12 goes tits up? may as well just stay at 4.

the idea is to find the two best teams to play a game. if a team is borderline 5 and can't make the top 4, too bad.

So, whoever wins out of the 3 vs 6 & the 4 vs 5 game will have to play an extra game.

That would be 16 games potentially for a college player to have to play?

These are college students, not an NFL team. They are suppose to attend classes and have tests and things.

They don't do that any differently with 12-15 games.

If the power 5 conf Champs all get in, it should be 8 teams.

Too much value in winning one game. I'm for keeping SoS and the regular season most meaningful.

4 is fine, but the committee only approach screws it up.

The BCS tweaks had it about right every year. The need to expand to 4 was based on the success of that polling system, but necessary to include the onesie, twosie outliers.

They should keep 4 and bring back the BCS composite polling system. Just replace the Harris poll with the committee and maybe skew their poll slightly higher to eliminate the "eye ball" test counterargument to the computers.

I'd also favor the AP poll in place of the coaches poll in the old BCS system. Yes, there are Homer sportswriters, but coaches are too busy with their own teams to accurately look at all games and assess who is better than who.

You only need one team to crown a champion. They're going to keep expanding this thing until CFB's regular season is just as boring as CBB. We had three huge upsets this Saturday, and two of those teams are still in the playoff. Bama fans are talking about how we could play backups against Auburn. That's not the college football I love.

College football is the one sport where the regular season is still exciting. I don't want to see it ruined, but I fear the worst.

Ya'll retards won't stop till the college football regular season is as meaningless as the basketball season.

Lose 3 games, who cares! You're in the playoffs!

Think of all the great games of the past decade that would have meant nothing.

Just in the past decade
Kick six- who cares
Bama vs UGA SEC title- both get in the playoff
Pitt stuns West Virginia- oh well WVU still gets in

+ Plenty more

i like four, its worked the last two years well enough. let the season play out.

- eight is coming and then the golden age of CFB will have passed.

Meh. This season has proved that there
needs to be more of an opportunity for an at-large bid. Teams with 2 or 3 losses that have been very competitive deserve a shot.
