The first church:
quote:
Acts 2:44
And all that believed were together, and had all things common;
45 And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.

We are counting on the great Miles to give it away.

Actually, Adam Smith didn't believe in greed. Capitalism wasn't founded on greed. It was the corrupt who came after him that added the greed factor. Smith just saw capitalism as an efficient way for the economy to organize.
"And hence it is, that to feel much for others and little for ourselves, that to restrain our selfish, and to indulge our benevolent affections, constitutes the perfection of human nature; and can alone produce among mankind that harmony of sentiments and passions in which consists their whole grace and propriety". (Theory of Moral Sentiments, Part 1, Section 1, Chapt

Jesus a communist? Lol.
Yeah. He'd be all for over bearing leaders making people feed out of their hands while giving them scraps and offering no semblance of freedom.
Don't mistake a man's total disregard for material possessions as an endorsement of communism.

New levels of ridiculousness have been reached.

No it is not. Charity is a heart condition not a governmental condition. Capitalism is not nor does it have to be anticharitable. The government even allows you to claim your charitable donations. Capitalism is not anti-Christian, it has nothing at all to do with Christianity other than putting us in a position to be more charitable. It is us who decide to be greedy.

just goes to show you how uninformed the masses are on this buyout. Miles, if released, will not see much of that amount due to conditions of his buyout.
1 buyout amount is $15Mil minus what he as received so far this year ($4.0 Mil) >>> $11.0 Mil.
2 buyout is payable in montly installments over twice the length left on his contract, 4 yrs x 2 = 8 yrs.
3 He must actively seek similar employment to be eligible for said buyout. He cannot just retire. Benefit is buyout amount minus earnings from new jobs.
4 Coaching or TV analyst is similar work.
Just so you know...

No, it isnt. But if it was, then I would be for capitalism over christ. Capitalism actually does perform miracles.
