I think the only thing we really learn from these early games is who really sucks (losing to bad comp = Aub) and who might surprise (Ole Miss taking it to Louisville). We really don't learn all that much when A&M goes 11-1 vs Hofstra, Yale, and Pepperdine (decent squad).

Opening Day is April 4th.

That's true. No way to tell anything this early as all programs are still feeling things out.

LSU is on Omaha trajectory

still really early. State started 13-0 last year, and look how we ended up. Nobody knows what they really have until conference series start.

I think it stands as it did opening day, my take...
EAST
Florida and Vanderbilt will contend for the east
Georgia and South Carolina will be right behind
Missouri will be a bubble
Tennessee and Kentucky will round it out.
WEST
Texas A&M is the deeper team
Arkansas and LSU and even Ole Miss will contend for a regional spot
Mississippi St and Alabama I need to see consistentcy from Cohen and Gaspard
Auburn

You do realize although raw in some areas with guys getting experience that this is one of the most talented teams Cohen has put together, if not THE most talented.

Kentucky needs to get is pitching sorted out to do any real damage this year. With our bats we're capable of playing spoiler in any series but ad of right now I don't see this team making any real postseason noise. A lot of time to grow and improve, hopefully that's what happens. I feel like I've seen this script from Coach Henderson before though.

Swept series over San Diego and took 2/3 at Stanford make for a pretty strong start to the season. Most encouraging thing for Vanderbilt is that Kilo & Donny Everett are yet to pitch this season (easing back in after off season injuries). Plus Kyle Wright has been thrown limited innings and the pitching has still been as good as it has been.
Get those 3 full back and ready to roll hopefully by SEC play

LSU will be inconsistent in SEC play, ton of new players.
Starting pitching is really good though (and that's with Lang having control issues).

We are playing one of the toughest OOC schedules I can remember. We played in the Dodger Classic last weekend and hosting #9 Oregon for a three game slate this weekend. We also get all the tough teams from the east. Florida and Vandy

Way too early to be drawing conclusions. All I can say about the Aggies at this point is that I think we're going to have the deepest bullpen we've ever had, but even in that area, there are question marks (Vinson was great as a set up man last year--not great, so far, this year). Starting pitching is still a bit of a question mark--lots of options, but no one has stood out as the clear Friday night guy.

Don't try explaining that to Ole Miss fans. Look at their upcoming schedule lol.

Ole Miss looks good. Bats are hot, pitching is better than expected, 3-1 vs. Top 25 teams with two wins over the #2 team in the country.

I don't wanna talk about it. Our red hot bats coming into this weekend went for .189. Our pitching was surprisingly good though.

I would say all of our starters minus Martin have looked good.

Cohen's had talent, obviously the team fell off a season ago after strong years in '13 and '14. All I'm saying is until Miss St. proves itself I can't put them winning the West.
