Maybe you're right. Bashing Texas over being butt hurt about horns down has the same feeling as bashing a transgender woke person.

I'm just saying, yes, uterus is very powerful.......in texas.

It's not a coincidence that almost all of the fantastical claims of their wickedness emanates from other in-state institutions, and that dates all the way back through the history of the SWC.

The hysteria and back-bowing we see all the time regarding them is just comedy for Sooners.

Texas had nothing to do with it. It’s at BYU. But don’t let that get in the way of the narrative

So, it's your opinion that BYU made their own students take the Horns Down shirts off because they were not bothering anybody...and nobody complained?

Yep. Makes perfect sense!

Dude. Really? Texas, as an institution, has been very explicit and deliberate in getting Big 12 teams/fans not to do the Horns Down.
Oh, really?

I wasn’t aware of that. Explicit and deliberate? How so?

All Texas ever asked was to penalize both horns up and down, or not penalize both horns up or down, penalize gun up or down, or don’t penalize guns up or down, just be consistent.

Thank you for admitting Texas fans are attention whores.
Not looking for attention, it’s just something that goes with the territory.

4 threads started on the front page of a message board catering to a conference we don’t even belong to. Not much looking for anything there.

It doesn’t seem like you’ve met a lot of Mormons. They’re not the shite talking type, so yes it makes sense that the BYU admin wouldn’t want that displayed on national television.

I've met a few, but if you are trying to insinuate that everybody that goes to BYU is Mormon.....

No. It doesn't, actually. So, you are saying it makes more sense that shirts that is not bothering anybody are taboo....but a group of people who are triggered by the shirts would not ask that they be removed?

And a penalty is called if players do the Horns Down sign is because it doesn't bother anybody? Texas fans claim they aren't bothered by Horns Down, but it is called taunting. If doesn't bother your fan base how can it be called taunting?

And even if Texas was not the cause of it becoming a penalty (And I think they are) then they could have come out and defused the situation by saying, "NO! It's not a problem. Let them do Horns Down, if it makes them feel better about themselves."
That would have told the whole world that it is a meaningless gesture that doesn't bother you. Instead, your university stood back quietly and supported the move to make it a penalty.

The question now is whether the SEC will consider the "Horns Down" gesture similarly offensive once the Longhorns join the conference with Oklahoma in 2025. Texas has considerably more sway in the Big 12, though it's uncertain whether it will have the same pull in a conference that includes Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Florida and more.

That remains up in the air for the moment, though not for a lack of interest by SEC coaches. Indeed, Missouri coach Eli Drinkwitz at the 2021 SEC Media Days said he asked SEC commissioner Greg Sankey whether "Horns Down" would be penalized.

“He gave me a strong rebuttal: No comment.”

ETA

All that said it will be interesting. People that know what happened at BYU will certainly bring out the t-shirts again. If there are complaints and they are told to remove the shirts, then we will all know. If not, we could all be forced to admit you are right. It just seems odd that the BIG 12 moved to suppress something that UT insists does not bother them at all. It seems just as bizarre that you think BYU AD would suppress something for being insensitive when Texas claims it is not insensitive and it does not bother them.

Paging WT, I’d like to order a meme’d t-shirt

Front with a horns down, below it a middle finger. Not sure about the caption yet, I expect we can get some ideas but I was thinking something like “that’s if you don’t like it shorthorns”

Doesn’t feel quite right, but I think you get the idea

Yes, because no team has ever beaten Saban and Bama before also losing 2+ SEC games and not making it to ATL after a full SEC schedule.
