Tennessee has been banished from the BIG 6.

LSU, despite losing to Troy, retains their spot.

And A&M has replaced you.

How, after all these years, does the fricking Gruden-to-Tennessee shite STILL persist? People are going to be putting him on Tennessee coaching search lists after he's dead.

Please happen. Guy destroyed what Dungy built here. Dungy had put all the pieces together and was unfairly fired. Should have had a dynasty. Four hall of famers on defense alone or future in Brooks, Sapp, Lynch, and Barber. So nasty. And that tard ruined it. Add in he is the worst at Qb development yet is somehow crowned a guru...yea okay.

Agreed. The rest of the SEC would love for Tennessee to hire Gruden.

He would be a splash hire, then fail. Anyone who is a Tampa fan saw him destroy what we had. Just dreadful.

You guys traded some highly valuable draft picks and money for Gruden, just so that you could win with McKay’s (note: not Dungy’s) team before they got too old. He delivered that. He also delivered most of the good seasons you’ve had since then.

1. He's a former head coach who has expressed interest in getting back into coaching.
2. He has connections to Tennessee. Tennessee is where he got his start as a coach. Tennessee is where he met his wife, who is a former Tennessee cheer leader. His son is currently a student at Tennessee.
3. Vols fans have seen him decked out in UT gear and heard him use "we" to refer to the football team.

Now, I certainly don't believe he's going to be the next coach. I do think he'll coach again, but most likely in the NFL. That said, Gruden to Tennessee doesn't seem any crazier than Saban to Tuscaloosa once seemed. I get irritated with the Tennessee fan base a lot. But if I had to rank the craziest delusions of Vols fans, hiring Gruden would be somewhere behind believing Butch Jones or Derek Dooley was going to lead us to the promised land.

Aside from his first season at Tampa, where yes he did win a Super Bowl, his record is 45-51. His overall winning percentage is .540. Pretty mediocre. How long can he cash in on that one accomplishment he had with another coach's players?

Rich McKay’s players. Dungy’s failure.
