There is a map on the Tiger Rant that shows 90% of on campus parking at LSU is reserved/no longer free. The point of the thread is how this affects game day attendance. What are the numbers around the league?

UGA has been pay parking all over campus at least since the 90's, even kids in dorms with dorm lot parking passes would get kicked out for gamedays so the schoolcould sell those spots.

I usually just have my helicopter pilot put me down in the stadium.

It has affects on season ticket holders. LSU will sell out every game. But, season ticket holders are tired of being nickel and dimed for everything. A lot of them are not renewing. And a lot of times it’s easier to just order pizza and stay home.

ETA: I tailgate for every game, but I’ve gone to two games in the past 3 years. It’s just too expensive.

Right.... it's not the state of the program, it is parking.

The campus and stadium were packed in the 90’s when we had losing records. The state of the program isn’t a deterrent. Parking is part of it, but there’s a lot more to it. Season ticket packages are still getting more expensive, then you pay a TAF fee, then parking tickets, then your tailgate spot. It adds up quick. All of a sudden, it’s become a major financial decision.

No free parking on campus at A&M. Last i checked you can find free parking on streets in the Historical District (housing across the street if you’re early on on Northgate (bars) if you’re really early.

Are the soccer fields/empty lots out past the rv lot not free at LSU anymore?

I'm curious as to what 4 year colleges don't have pay parking.

Auburn is free as long as you take the left part of your vehicle out of oncoming traffic and onto the curb.

Don't be a moron and you are golden.

There is usually enough room for everyone due to simple math.

Ole Miss and Oxford are a fricking disaster. It's best to park in Batesville then start walking from there.

There are reserved lots at UF, but you’re allowed to park pretty much anywhere that’s not blocked off. You’ll see cars pulled up all over the place on campus.

I posted the map on the rant. It’s not that it’s paid parking. It’s that’s it’s 90% reserved pass parking. All of the yellow areas are passes only.

Parking on the shoulder is the only “free” parking I’m aware of at Auburn.

No free parking on Alabama's campus. You either have to pay per game, or it's included in higher up Tide Pride packages, or you can purchase season parking passes (which I do).

Even handicap people have to pay now.

Just looking around at other SEC parking maps, apparently our situation is pretty typical. Hopefully as attendance drops around find country we see a return to catering to the average fan one day soon.

I don’t know the percentage, but ours is the same.
It may even be 100%.

CoMo I feel has a good mixture of TSF paid lots and free garages (some even with grass tailgate opportunities) within walking distsnce
