What motivation is there to use that stuff?
I was on probation and part of that was getting randomly drug tested and I was still young and in the phase where I wanted to get high

quote:About 30% of the guys I played baseball with would smoke it. We'd smoke and go play basketball at the gym. I drove us one day and had to pull over(like, I had seconds to pull over) because I was about to pass out, which I did. Obviously, I never touched the stuff again. Plenty of the guys had similar things happen. That shite is bad news.
I can see why synthetic weed would be highly attractive to athletes, who want to just chill and get high but still play football.
ETA: This was about 6 years ago, none of us knew how bad it was.

Anything in moderation. Way lower percentage of people are addicted to booze than to most "drugs". Having a drink in the afternoon isn't going to affect my performance, I can't say the same about the majority of smokers I know. I'm not talking about your health, I'm talking about being s functional and contributing adult.
Some people would rather smoke a joint then have a drink after a long day at work. I've even read college coaches say they that they'd rather have their players smoke than drink, because the smokers showed up on time and were ready to play at 100%.
Marijuana tolerance is also much different than with alcohol. A single hit would get a non smoker higher than me if I smoked a entire half gram joint. So that's where a lot of Ceech and Chong jokes come from.
If I have to wake up at 6 am, I'd rather not have drank the night before. I can't do my job effectively if I drank too much. If I smoke too much, I usually just get an extra couple hours sleep.
I can easily smoke a joint after work, and go hiking, mountain biking , or do anything else I could if I had a beer or two.
I'm glad I'm in a place to where I can legally purchase the best quality cannabis in the world. It's beneficial to the economy, keeps kids from using stupid shite like spice, and also makes it hard for kids to get it. I get carded twice during every purchase; once to walk in the door, and again at the counter before I can examine any products. Dispensaries are very strict about the laws. Every single law enforcement operation has failed to have a single underage sale.
Just because you know a couple of lazy retards, that doesn't mean that's representative of the American cannabis consuming population. I also know plenty of lazy retards that don't smoke. Hell, I've even known people that use hard drugs, that don't like pot.
Don't make me a criminal, because of someone else's puritanical beliefs, or because someone didn't enjoy when they tried it. To each their own. Nobody has ever robbed someone at gun point to buy weed. Propaganda from the 30s still fogs people's opinions, even after decades of contradicting scientific research.

Christ, cut the shite Ole Miss fans. Everyone who lives in Oxford knows the lifestyle the guy leads. This isn't his first rodeo. I hope he gets the help he needs but spare the "poor kid had no idea" routine.
This is 100% how I feel. I may appear to be an a-hole. But let's be real here there is not a soul here that follows OM football that is the least surprised by this.
And it's his own damn fault for doing drugs.

If you'd ever spend a single day as a first responder you would know this is not true.

It's not an appearance.
Why the need to point out its his fault when the kid could be on his death bed? I don't think anyone has argued that it was or wasn't his fault. But when you have a couple of Moo State community college retards saying frick this guy, one who claims to work in an ICU when this kid is possibly dying in one, it stinks of backwoods prejudice and ignorance.

If his lifestyle is such as described by those that know him, it sounds as though he enjoys the company of a community of enablers. They are just as much at fault as the kid is for choosing to do the crap. The news is full of stories about how bad this stuff is. Hope the guy recovers. But, it was his choice - he had to have known the risks.

When will these kids learn?
Ive seen more stories over the past few years of this fake weed putting kids in coma's and killing them...Its sad.
Hopefully he gets better and never touches that stuff again...

Yeah, he's a bad person. frick him.

So is the timeline that Freeze announced him sitting and then he took something to be placed in ICU? If so, I'm legitimately concerned for the kid's well being if that's his response to that. That's pretty textbook self-harming behaviors and from everything I've heard about the kid I'd have a hard time imagining he didn't know how harmful synthetic weed could be.
I don't wish him ill will because he took drugs though. It sounds like there's more to it then just some kid took some bad shite, but that's assuming he wasn't in the ICU when Freeze announced him sitting out earlier yesterday.

So much stupidity in this thread, but this post is the king of them all. You have no idea how many people who "contribute to society" smoke a little weed after a long day at work.

There are a lot of doctors and Lawyers that smoke

This thread is what message boards are all about. A bunch of misinformed people casting stones and passing judgment. Pretty classic...

Prayers for the young man. Hate to hear of news like this but it does put things back into perspective. Football is only a game.

You're right about that. Any update? I didn't see this going this long..
