Is he implying the recruits were paid Ole Miss money?

Kudos too OM WBB actually getting up for the rivalry and keeping it fiery! Got to take up the slack for the football, MBB, and baseball programs. At least WBB isn't bending over and taking the inevitable without a fight!

I will say Restaurant Tyler is decent and that is about it unless Applebee's level of quality is your thing.

Don't particularly like Insell but kudos to him for throwing some verbiage out there. Rivalries need some spunk and spark sometimes.
Part of the fun of them. OM will play us tough tonight but I think we will get it done with our team and a big crowd behind them.
Go State!!!!

Considering the source, I consider it an improvement compared to the other garbage that comes from him.

Son of a legendary WBB coach with stops at La Tech and Kentucky, Rebs are on the upswing.

Should be a good game and hope both do well come March Madness!

He's not his dad. Horrible coach who has to seek help from his "mentors" on how to coach. Herman Munster is in way over his head

Is he going to let the team stop by to see the Golden Egg? It might be their only opportunity to see the trophy.

Yes, unfortunately at times I have been forced to dine in such establishments....like when I have stopped in to see my son, a senior at MSU, in Starkville on a Monday night and Restaurant Tyler is closed. Always end up at Harvey's or the Veranda which are barely a cut above Applebee's.

Missouri for decades would not stop or spend a dime in kansas when we'd play them. The hatred in the old boarder WAR was beautiful.

Hats off to the Ole Miss coach. Hatred, arrogance, and smack talk make college sports better than professional. In the Pros you can try to hate another team, but 2 years later half your core players are on their team and visa versa. In college that hatred gets to be solidified for generations. Warms my heart.

After the win over Tennesse he said

"We watched film and thought we were the better team; it wasn't an upset to us," Insell said. "That's the thing that made me most proud. We feel like that a lot of games that we play. We're very confident as we start Monday."

Coming to play Mississippi State tonight he is also quoted -

"That's kind of how we feel about Starkville. We're not going to spend any of our Ole Miss money in Starkville. We're going to go down there and play a basketball game and we'll get on the bus and if we stop, we'll stop right outside of Starkville."

Mullinsboys kinda left a part out from the 2nd quote from Insell. He makes the implication that Ole Miss was confident they were the better team versus UT, and they feel they are the better team versus Miss State too. But Insell wasn't saying he felt they were better so much as saying that they just didn't like Miss State. Here's the full context for the quote:

quote:

Insell, who doesn't expect the Rebels to get to Starkville until 4 p.m., also sought out some advice from his dad, Middle Tennessee State coach Rick Insell.

"His big rival is Western Kentucky. His big thing is we're not going to spend any money in Bowling Green, Kentucky, because we don't like 'em," Matt said. "That's kind of how we feel about Starkville. We're not going to spend any of our Ole Miss money in Starkville. We're going to go down there and play a basketball game and we'll get on the bus and if we stop, we'll stop right outside of Starkville."
