I'm pretty sure Texas asks schools for permission before their game gets put on the LHN.
Why?

Goddamn longhorns. I was looking forward to this game. Not sure how it works in terms of both schools agreeing to this, but if ole miss did then frick you too.

Went back and actually did a little reading on the LHN and games they showed last year. Apparently Ole Miss had absolutely no say in this situation being that they're the OOC road team. The only way a team can really challenge a game being shown on the network is if it's a Big12 conference game, ala Texas Tech last year.
Whole situation really sucks for Ole Miss fans all the way around.

You would think there would be plenty of national interest in this game esp in the Southeast.
Unless they are doing it to make some kind of point.

Pretty sure Iowa State fans still got the game and they didn't have to get the LHN. Again this begs the question, and no offense to Ole Miss, but how does tu think it will pick up carriers without a marquee game? Doesn't make sense.

Texas just fricked themselves with ever having a legit OOC play in Austin. There is no way a ND or OH St or Bama would allow this to happen.

So the AD for Ole Miss knew about this provision and still agreed to play them?

The old AD... yes probably Thanks Pete Boone...

Fans will still be able to watch it so it doesn't really matter

Someone needs to FOIA request the contract. I bet it would be enlightening.

Yeah... When the game went on the schedule 5 years ago the AD knew they'd stab us in the back and put it on LHN... Some threads the Rant knows what it's talking about.. This isn't one of those threads... OM literally has nothing to do with the decision makin process cause it's an OOC road game... And the posters saying OM should back out of the game altogether, I hope you're mildly retarded and don't know any better.
