Where are y'all going to find 35,000 more screaming dildos that will show up at the start of the 2nd quarter and leave at halftime?

I realize this has been talked about ad nauseam but damn how legit would the Mississippi State University Rebels be as a program?

I could care less if both schools are trying to one up each other with all this. At least both schools are doing something to improve itself. Lord knows both schools need it.

I do think this in a way is a reaction to Mullen and state building momentum at state, but this will be a good thing for ole miss for sure. Both teams are gonna benefit in the long run from this arms race. With state being down for so long, ole miss didn't have to do much to reign supreme in Mississippi.

Why would that be in there? We are the Rebels and Bulldogs.

Well we've combined for 90k season tickets sold, so we'd probably be pretty fricking awesome.

Yes, I was trying to figure out how to break it up properly and give both credit. I went with Mississippi State University since it would be similar to Louisiana State University so that meant the Rebels got the mascot name.

Because we here at MSU love on-field mascots. We couldn't have one if we were the RebelDawgs.

That's what I am thinking. 90k in season tickets and 300 million being spent on athletics. That would be pretty damn legit.

I remember an article a couple of years ago in the Clarion-Ledger about what it would be like if there was one school in the state. Location would more than likely be Jackson if I had to guess.

Supposedly this meeting at 6pm will be broadcast on RebelVision for free. I might have to watch this.

I wonder if our renderings will have ghost too. Or were they representing the souls lost in the 09 egg bowl?

These plans have been in the works since before Mullen was hired at State, but even if that were the case I wouldn't care.

Pete Boone's motives don't mean frick to me so long as he builds a new basketball arena.

Also, recent expansions for both schools have been "initiated" by Ole Miss, if that makes any sense.

We build a jumbotron. They build a jumbotron.
We build an IPF. They build an IPF.
We build a basketball practice facility. They build a basketball practice facility.

And so forth.

Yeah, in that OM finished theirs first. It seems as State announces plans to make plans, then OM makes their plans and builds it first. I know I read on boards that we had 'talked' about building big video board for many months before I read that OM was announcing their plans. Same goes for the basketball practice facility--it seems we had been talking about one for years. OM just gets it done much more quickly than State.

As far as the IPF, State had a sparse 50 yard indoor practice facility for 20-30 years before OM built their really nice 100 yard IPF. Then we built our still relatively rather sparse 100 yard IPF. Turns out that Mullen doesn't like to use it much anyway--it's only used 4-5 times a year by the football team.

For the last several years State has had renovated and pretty nice weight rooms, training facilities, etc, but they've been in separate buildings. With our football facility to be started within months, we'll have everything state-of-the-art and under one roof (except for the IPF part) and right next to the practice fields.

It doesn't matter THAT much, though. It's a good that that OM and MSU are pushing each other.

Congrats on the $150 million campaign.
