Posted by OMLandshark Makes perfect sense, because one was lost over two retarded blunders, and the other was lost thanks to horrifying bull shite. Y'all lost a game by over 30 fricking points. Ole Miss should without question be the highest two loss team in the nation.

Ole Miss lost to LSU because LSU dominated them on both sides of the ball and was clearly the much better team in every way.

The game was only close because LSU got inside the 5 yard line 3 times and got 3 points out of it for various reasons and dropped an INT right in their hands the play before Ole Miss scored their only points.

Game could have been 28-0.

Any Ole Miss fan who says that game was close in anything but score is clueless.

Disagree to an extent. I still think you can use objective reasoning if two teams have the same record.

Love how we were "DOMINATED" in a 3 point loss @LSU, but LSU was in the game in a 5 point loss at home vs State.

See the hypocrisy here?

My point also. You didn't score. Therefore it does not help you that you got some yards and consistently blew it. Why should it?

so why do people want to use the exact opposite reasoning for the LSU/State game? Fact of the matter is, LSU had the ball with a chance to win as the clock expired. If you want to use this logic, that's all that matters, not how the two teams got to that score or what the score was in the 3rd quarter. See how stupid that sounds?

But you would complain if it was Miss and Miss St and you had beat them in the Egg Bowl. Correct?

I doubt you would be saying they deserve to be ranked higher because you got beat by 3 TD earlier in the year.

see this is the main thing. ole miss fans will try to justify it because it benefits them. if the shoe was on the other foot, the melt would be unreal.

Well that doesnt make much sense

Actually it does. While LSU did win a slugfest with OM at home, they played poorly in a close loss to MSU at home and got blown out by AU, whom OM loss to on a fluke play. Both teams are right where they should be. Even if LSU wins out, they should stay behind OM if OM wins out, IMO.

It matters if you are 1 through 4. If you are 5-7 with some kind of case it may be worth bittcing... but being 11 or 16 is the same thing.

Maybe in a final poll with all games including bowls being played maybe... but this is not that. This committee won't even produce one when all is said and done.

Hyperbole.

LSU won the physical battle but the result of game was a toss-up.

41-7 Auburn is domination on both sides of the ball. The scoreboard and box score didn't lie.

I've seen more people say that LSU was dominated by State, but escaped in a fluke upset against Mississippi.

I don't understand why it's irrational to think that the difference in losing by 39 points combines vs 7 points combined out weighs a head to head. Especially when the head to head was by 3 points. Seems irrational to think otherwise. I'm just here to lap up the tears.

Because the playoff committees protocol states that they value head to head and not margin of victory (or defeat), but the rankings do not reflect that thought process at all.

Championships won

Strength of schedule

Head-to-head competition (if it occurred)

Comparative outcomes of common opponents (without incenting margin of victory)

Dude I hate to break your little already broken heart but we kicked y'all fricking teeth in. If not for our two blunders in the red zone that game would have never been as close as it was One word......dominated!!
