I'd tell him not to bring a tent. Bring a cheap (that he wouldn't mind not seeing again once he goes into the game) cooler with some liquor. Make small talk and offer a shot with people that have a tent. 98% chance they will invite him in for food and drinks. After he gets into a tent just be sociable and cool and he will enjoy it.

Just sit there with hidden alcohol no music, and no cooking allowed. It's a blast, an amazing tailgating experience

Ole Miss

They will say its tradition and part of the "experience" to run around like sooners. You guys think the "Grove" is special, its special because and unique because it is a horrible way to do tailgating.

Here comes the bashing, but when every school out of the 14 agrees. Do not get me wrong anyone can have fun with football, alcohol, food, and an SEC environment. But everytime you see Ole Miss rated highly on a tailgating list it just is stupid.

After going to Ole Miss for a little bit. I can tell you that the grove is a little overrated, especially since it's so crowded, but it's still an enjoyable time. I've been to a LSU vs Tulane game (granted as a Tulane fan), but hung out with LSU fans and I wasn't very impressed. Is the grove the end all be all of college tailgating? No, but it's one of the best that I've experienced. It's just like any other football game that one goes to. If you're looking to have fun, then you will. The grove just offers more opportunity to have fun then most other places.

Uhh, maybe because we were playing tulane? That's like going to a strip club at 1pm on a tuesday and complaining about the talent

I'm sorry, but are you implying that only a LSU fan can have fun at a LSu game? That would make my point that an Ole Miss game is a better atmosphere. I'm sorry that you think making traveling fans too miserable to ever visit you're university is some how a good thing.
ETA: was going to talk more crap about you, but too drunk and re edited to not.

But I can't drink beer in a can in the Grove.

A can? What are you drinking, Busch or the Beast?

No. I'm saying you're not going to see the true gameday atmosphere when we're playing an insignificant team like tulane.

Yeah it's nothing special. It's just a bunch of tailgates squeezed together instead of spread out throughout the campus. I was glad my group chose to get a spot on the outskirts cause when it gets crowded it's horrible. Girls were overrated too. Nothing better than any other southern school.

Super overrated when ranked by the ESPNs of the world. I think it's just a bunch of Yankees that aren't use to good tailgating, and seeing a high # of above avg chicks. Especially ones that aren't afraid to hangout with each other.
