Patterson is not going to be at Ole Miss 5 years. They are better off getting him in the game and start developing him in game situations.

The only reason to not play him is if he's not as good as advertised.

This guy is right.

I'd burn the redshirt. Let him get some game experience when it doesn't matter so much. I'd rather him start next season with a few games under his belt and have the experience

Eason is the bright spot on our O and is light years beyond a sophomore QB at this point.

Ole Miss should play the kid because if he is as good as advertised he will be gone at the end of three.

Based on the way CHF has recruited the position that isn't saying much.

Play him. What do you have to lose?

I'm leaning toward leaving the shirt on. The backup hasn't had a lot of reps because we've played so many tight games but we believe he's a quality player. Totally different from Chad though. I'm not sure a chance to play in the liberty bowl is worth pulling it. Plus we are down to only two starting offensive linemen. Pellerin is bigger, more durable and a better runner. We have very winnable games left though so I can see how you'd be tempted to put him in there.

It's amazing that regardless who starts Saturday it will be the first time since 2010 that a player signed out of high school will start a game. And that 2010 instance is the only time in the last decade.

I'd burn the redshirt and turn it over to him. It's no secret who our guy is going to be in the next few years. If he keeps the redshirt, lights it up, and enters the draft at the end of his redshirt Sophomore year we'd only have him as our starter for two years anyway. Let him start the rest of this year against a tough team and environment in A&M, a tough defense on the road against Vandy, and take part in the Egg Bowl first hand. Then have the opportunity to lead us to a bowl game because it's looking even more bleak now. I believe it's whats best for our team and fan base at this point in the season.

If he comes out and has a great 3rd and 4th season he isn't going to stay for a 5th.

RS are useful for players you don't think will contribute till their 4th and 5th year.

Not people you hope will be superstars sooner rather than later.

They better get him in if they wanna try and get one last bowl in before that post season ban hammer comes down.

I say to leave the redshirt on him. It might be for the best if we just threw in the towel on this season already. Shea would most likely be an improvement over Pellerin, but if you start Shea now it would shatter Pellerin's confidence and might cause him to transfer.

Freeze has gone on to say that he wants to set Shea up for success. Freeze says Shea's ready, and that he's the most complete quarterback he's ever seen as a freshman, but he wants to take time to make the right decision, not one made out of emotion.

Then there's no way he plays this season.

Liggins is listed at 310 lbs on the roster. QB Jared Lorenzen was 260 lbs at KY.

At least with Liggins taking snaps under center we have a chance..a chance..at short yardage first downs for the first time in 4-5 years..
