Memphis is pretty damn good this year.
They have a QB that would be a starter for several SEC teams.

Their defense stinks, which means they won't match up well against us. Good D's give us problems.

I see they're 5-0 and the game is in Memphis. I still think Ole Miss rolls them, but it could be an interesting game if they come out flat.
Which is worse, Bears playing at Memphis or State playing at Usm?

Memphis just seems to play Ole Miss well. Maybe it's the familiarity the teams have with each other. If I had to bet I would take Ole Miss and the points. However if Memphis gets some turnovers it could be a good game

I personally think it is easy money because Memphis has had to basically outscore teams this season and won't be able to do that against Ole Miss.
Bingo. Memphis returned around 3 starters from what was a decent defense last season. They're 5-0 because Paxton Lynch is good enough to help them win shootouts in their conference. They're not going to be able to win a shootout against Ole Miss unless they get some help from turnovers. I think Ole Miss wins by 17+

And Ole Miss has a history of playing in Memphis. Back when Arkansas was in the SWC the Rebels and Hogs would play in Memphis at times. Doesn't Ole Miss have a ton of alumni in Memphis?

Over the years, this game was played frequently in Memphis because it had the larger stadium. Although that's not true anymore, there were many games played in Memphis in which OM fans outnumbered Memphis fans. There should be a large contingent of OM fans in the Liberty Bowl this Saturday. I'd say anywhere from 20 to 25,000. Memphis definitely has the largest OM alum base in the country. Other surprisingly large OM fan bases exist in New Orleans (which is why Tulane games are so popular with Ole Miss fans) and Houston.

We do have a ton of alumni in the Memphis area.
Our biggest alumni bases, IMO, are as follows:
1) Jackson (of course)
2) Memphis
3) Atlanta
4) Nashville
5) Dallas
6) New Orleans
7) Birmingham

Jackson, and it isn't close.

They're playing in the Liberty Bowl. Ole Miss is only an hour outside of Memphis so it won't really be like a road game. This is more of a cross town rivalry that's gone back for decades.
