I went to the game (LSU fan). Fans around us were great. Tailgated all day with no issues. The only thing we got is drunk frat kids yelling at us while walking past their tailgates to the stadium, but that has happened at probably every away venue I've been.

Ya, I pretty much dress in stuff that dries quick, I remember being soaked after LSU games in the early 2000s from touchdown drink tosses.
Just don't hit the wife/kids, of course we wouldn't be over there if they were with me though.

If Old Man didn't do X - and just did Y while accepting the abuse - then no harm, no foul ? Right ? That's literally what you, and others, have said for several pages now.
But what if Old Coon arse simply didn't accept the original argument. That it was incumbent upon him to accept certain vocal barbs and actions ? What if his entire world-view was not "Give in to the crowd" ?
Hence, again, the Gen Z view. Gen Z looks at the crowd, and just assumes anyone not obeying the crowd is wrong.
