I guarantee you that if Texas wins this weekend (against Oklahoma State) they'll have earned their ranking.
If they lose, they'll be unranked. It's just that simple.

We aren't arguing that Texas should be unranked. I think they are a pretty solid team.

I would be hesitant to put Ole Miss in the top 25 as we always shat the bed in spectacular ways when we do get enough votes to be ranked.
