Their offense without a doubt is proven, but I have heard nothing about their defense. Can someone elaborate?

I think they return nearly everyone including GH; IMO they will be tough and probably favored in most of their games.

Just imagine a combined unit consisting of the best of 1992 Alabama and 2003 LSU defenses.

I'll believe it when I see it (maybe).

Our Defense is just as good this year if not better than last. We did lose Peria Jerry who was hindered with an injury for the first part of the year. But Powe is stronger and quicker than Jerry ever was, he just lacks game experience. We also get Greg Hardy back healthy for the first time since 2007(Hardy still led the team in sacks playing maybe 1/5 of the snaps in 2008.

Our linebackers are pretty solid but not all world, but they are thin on the depth chart. Our secondary is about the same IMO.

The greatest thing that helps our Defense look so good is the fact that we would constantly sub 8-10 DL in every game after every 2-4 snaps. Our "2nd team" DL would be the starting line on probably half of the SEC teams.

Just preparing you for the superlatives once the OM respondents begin.

We aren't as delusional as you wish we were.

Every Ole Miss fan knows that the secondary can be questioned. I won't say that they are "suspect" anymore, but they definitely are not up to par with the DL. Their size hurts them a lot.

Lost Peria Jerry on defense and maybe a few others. Powe will take his place. He has lost some more weight in the off season and looks to be in good shape. Greg Hardy will be healthy and ready to go. There were a few other losses, but I think we are really good on d. I am hoping the line plays like they did and better last year. Also hoping the secondary is much improved. I am kinda worried about our o line since we lost Oher.

DL is still 7 or 8 deep w/o Peria Jerry.

LB and CB have serious depth concerns (incoming players may alleviate that), but our starting back 7 is solid, but not great.

Our DBs played well the second half of the season last year.

Offense should be good but we have depth issues on the OL. Snead is a franchise QB, which 10 SEC teams don't have right now.

Greg Hardy is a 2nd team Preseason All-American and probably wont start. We are incredibly deep this year. I expect Walker and Trahan to pick up where they left off last year at LB. And Marshay had a great spring, Johnny Brown is solid and Lewis is a returning starter in the secondary. But a good QB could probably pick them apart. Our key game is USCe that will show whether we can make a run at the west.

Their D line will be almost impossible to run against.

I don't see how you couldn't start him at DE. He is the best DE we have. Borderline best last year hurt. Who would you start opposite of Lockett?

Tillman. Theyll bring Greg in on 3rd down and passing situations. Tillman is great against the run. One thing is for sure they will be fresh in the 4th which is bad of the opposition.

yea, I could see Tillman starting over Hardy against certain teams. But i still see Hardy getting more playing time though.

one more thing that i just realized....between tillman, hardy, laurent, powe, lockett, and scott on DL and with walker and Trahan as LB's...... our Goal line defense is going to be beastly

I love a stacked d line. One good thing Orgeron did for us. I am so ready for football season to start it's ridiculous

Our secondary is about the same IMO.

Not good for OM. Last in the SEC. Just sayin.
But, the D-line will help them by pressuring the QB.

Was referring to the secondary being in the same shape as the LB's.....decent to good by SEC standards but lacking in depth
