They are not committed to state. Hell Odom is committed elsewhere.

In the last 5 years? Chris Jones was the #2 player in the country, depending on which service you use, and actually played a position that translated to college ball.

Chris was the #18 player in the country using the composite. Akers is the #2. So without using bias, and actual rankings, Akers is the highest ranked kid to ever come out of MS. This is all you can use because of bias. If Chris was the actual #2 player he would have been a first round pick. Until Akers plays you have to go by what he did in HS and what unbias opinions rank him.

Jones is the best player out of the state in the last 5 years but frankly, I think there are several who are better. Ward, Simmons, Connor, Peters, Lewis, Gay to name a few. Cam is great but has a lot of learning ahead of him. Has to work on his pad level and learn the things a RB does on the 2/3 of the snaps that he isn't getting the ball. Talented sure but best in the last 20 years? Hell no.

The State kind of sucks this year TBH. Kylin, Bowie, Odom, Gay, Charles and Cam were the only ones in the composite top 10 I felt were worth pursuing. We went after Avery as well though.

It looks like we end up with 4 of those 6/7.

A few others that are highly rated that I left off that list... Brennan simply doesn't fit our system and I think he's more like a middle of the road 3 star. Obviously we went after Avery hard but I think he's too slow to play safety and with Grantham we no longer have OLB's.

So yeah it sucks that half the top 10 are going out of state, I guess? But in reality State/OM didn't even go after more than 6-7 of them.

So we're talking about Bowie who's currently committed to OM, but not allowed to talk about 2 other guys we are going sign because they aren't committed to us right now? Makes sense.

His comments still has substance though. If yall land Gay and we hold onto Bowie, we will end up with more HS four star, and do it with a smaller class. If you cant recruit when your rival has the biggest cloud over them possible, while coming off the most successful period in program history, there is no possibility for advancement as a program. Maybe thats why yall talk about the ncaa more than yourselves.

He said, "if Bowie sticks with OM, state will only have 1 out of the top 10 in MS". He didnt say "if Bowie sticks with OM while state adds two other players in the top 10". It wasnt an open hypothetical of how you think the class will end, even though I think you end up with at least one of those you mentioned. I think both will be really good too.

Yes, it was a hypothetical of how our class ends. "If Bowie sticks with OM".

I'm not sure that's true. I'm pretty certain our HS class this year is smaller than yours. We only have 2 composite 4* HS commits right now but we also only have like 9 or so HS commits total.

Also, different subject for a different time, but we should probably just start using 247. They are about to acquire scout and Rivals rankings are hot garbage.

ETA: 7 247 4*'s.

True. He knows how to read defenses and can operate a passing offense.

I forget that MSU prefers the unranked RB/Qb.

Brennan is a stud, but we don't want pocket passers. Say what you want, but we didn't recruit Brennan.

So I guess we are supposed to assume y'all get Willie Gay and Odom because State insiders say y'all might? How'd that work out with the kicker who had a full ride offer to state but chose to pay his way to alabama? Wasn't he a lock?

Odom may flip and Gay may choose State, but from what I've seen Odom flipped from State to Louisville and Gay desperately wants to play for LSU. True, local pressure might win out in the end, but it sure looks like LSU is where he wants to play.

And you are shocked we aren't recruiting well?

Our QB commit just scored 75 TD's to only 6 INT's while winning Mr Football in Louisiana. He's an early enrollee and top 5 DT QB in the class.

So yeah, get out of here with that shite.

Rivals only ranks by eye test and has the most camps and combines. Im not saying they are vastly superior but they are not garbage, just more professional in how they rank.

247 or composite, you have two HS 4 stars and we will end up with more than you on both measurements (pending bowie)
