This thread went exactly how I envisioned it.

You know what makes Alex Box atmosphere so cool? That big billboard in right field.

Because yall throw beer in the air and have large rowdy crowds?

How many times has the best atmosphere in the country advanced yall in the post season?
Ole Miss isn't even the best atmosphere in the state of Mississippi

Point being, he was just blowing smoke and implied alex box is a cheap looking facility. First of all, the Box is built for expansion. it's well known there's been plenty of talk about adding more suites with such a high demand for luxury seating. When they do that, they'll inevitably make the stadium all chairback. Basically no one is content where the box is, but everyone is stoked about the potential it has down the road. they did an excellent job with the grandstand
I really wish they would have built a berm in right field. I am sure it's still a possibility, but I did not understand why they opted out because of the upkeep when our softball stadium has a berm

I don't think that will ever happen, IMO.

Because of the beer showers you get in the top 10.

Jesus, really? You're going to dodge a serious question about Ole Miss' campus alcohol policies and the potential for alcohol sales in vaught-Hemingway and instead resort to the most tired, sophomric schtick on this site for no apparent reason?

And our stadium is made of concrete and steel, not metal bleachers like Alex Box.
Alleva went cheap and it shows.
LSU doesn't build cheap, it builds smart. And it usually builds projects in phases. The new ABS is an example of this, it's now in phase 3.
Every athletic facility LSU has built recently is one of, if not the best in the SEC. That's true of the new Alex Box Stadium as well.
The next phase in ABS construction will involve extending the stands down the sidelines and adding additional suites. ABS has 27 suites at present, the next expansion will add 6-8 more suites.

Do you know of any sort of timeline, TOG?
I would think it's our next major project. either that or a new grandstand for the outdoor track.
I love all LSU athletics, but I would still rather have LSU allocate its funds to anything but a natatorium, even as pathetic as it is now. I would rather invest more in the track and baseball programs

I don't, but if you look at the trend of how LSU is building, they look where they can add premium seating where it will do the most good, and make the most money.
There's no question that LSU could sell more suites at ABS. Heck, even softball has sold out it's suites.

Despite what many in this thread will deny, I agree we are the best. State is close, but the difficulty for the average fan to get a decent spot in their outfield pushes us on top.
