They are actually very similar, just played different spots. When Hardy wasn't taking off plays, he was unstoppable. Rob was the same, it's just harder to take over a game at DT than it is at DE and have it be noticed

Now that big Rob is done. Let's all admit he really never lived up to the hype. I could see him being a bust in the NFL.

He will be if they play him at DT where you can minimize his impact. If they put him at end where he belongs, his carrer will approximate that of Julius Peppers'.

He earned multiple All conference and All American honors while at Ole Miss... Go frick yourself.

I'm not sure you could say "earned." They were given to him without him having the play that merited it. He had a game against Boise and against State one time, and was mostly invisible for the rest of his career with the occasional brilliance when he had his head in the game.

Our defense should improve next year without him. Obviously he was overrated as hell

I thought Hardy stayed hurt all of time - or was it suspended? Don't remember...

Overall, the guy was really important to our defense even though he did not always finish plays as well as I would like. Lots of double teams, lots of penetration. (Tee hee).

That being said I don't expect much productivity out of him in the Sugar Bowl.

Just get him a first floor room.

He never lived up to his billing. He could have started on any team in the country, but he was expected to be more than just a decent-to-good player.

Honestly, I have no idea what he'll do in the pros. He has the physical skills, but something is lacking mentally. With the right team and right coach, he could be all-pro. With the wrong team and coach, he could be a career back-up bouncing around until he washes out.

How exactly does anyone live up to the #1 overall prospect? Seems like the kiss of death to me.

Exactly

2013 - Nkemdiche
2012 - Dorial Green-Beckham
2011 - Clowney
2010 - Ronald Powell
2009 - Matt Barkley
2008 - DaQuan Bowers
2007 - Joe McKnight

To say he is a bust because he had the #1 overall prospect tag, is absurd. Nkemdiche took over in the biggest games and always did his job. He embraced the double team. There's videos of him at practice wanting to go against two guys in one-on-one drills.

Now, is he a complete package, like you'd "expect" from the #1 guy? No, but none of the other guys were either.

And for record, Clowney had one total sack in his 7 games vs an SEC West opponent(MSU his freshman year).

You could argue Nkemdiche is anywhere in the top 3 of that list. I'd take Bowers over him.

Robert is the next Ricky Williams. Gonna have a really solid 5-6 years and then pursue other interests.

I wouldn't go that far on the first premise. The whole Robert is overrated narrative was by butthurt pussies that either don't understand football or wanted to ignore their knowledge of the game to be #haterz.

He will be a bust, though. He's gotten weirder and weirder and his motor is garbage. If he had a decent motor, we'd be 11-2 right now.
