Also Dabo is on a short leash at Clemson, he hasn't done much to ender himself to the fanbase, he makes another slip up like last year and he'll be gone, I honestly thought he'd be gone this year but the team made a strong improvement with the new OC.
The leash is a mile long when the team is undefeated and ranked in the top 10, don't you agree?

"His buyout is cut in half January 1. "
Yeah but his contract specifies that he is owed $2MIL if his contract is not rolled over at the end of the year. So you would still owe him $5 million dollars if you fired him after years end.

Good way to put Ole Piss on probation......

Probably a wise thing for your family member to say.

kirby would be the best hire. I love leach but i just don't think he'd fit in very well there.

How do Auburn fans feel about tuberville? Wasn't he like 7-3 against Bama, and had an undefeated season? It can't all be bad.

I've got nothing but love for Tubbs, I think people are just laughing at the irony of Tubs to OM considering the irony of his past there.
Tubbs was a phenomenal coach but ultimately he remained loyal to bad assistants who couldn't recruit. Hell, he might still be here if he had hired Malzahn over Tony Franklin.
I agree completely. Tuberville generally did a great job at Auburn. He was undone by a couple of bad OC decisions and staying to loyal to some assistants. He should have had a shot at the BCS title in 2004 and also did a fantastic job in 2006 (I think that is the year) when he got 11 wins out of a moderately talented team. Plus his record against Bama was awesome!
Overall, I think the majority of Auburn fans like and still support Tub, although of course there are some who don't. But I'd say it is at least 70%-30% who like him.
As for Ole Miss, I could def. see Gus taking that job if offered. Personally I think it would be fun to have the Dread Pirate Leach in the SEC.

what happens in two years when the next coach can't win there? Just nonchalantly raise another $30 million?
I'm not worried bout that, we gotta get this clown out. That's step one. There is no other option.

Trotter's been on the Gus Bus for 3 yrs now, right?
Trotter had offers from UAB and Samford and so did Mosely.
It is clear that they aren't SEC talent. Frazier had an offer from most everyone in the country. Frazier is Gus's boy.
Its ok to admit you are scared of Gus, its pretty evident when his name is thrown around by bama fans when any job in the country is opened up.

In my experience most AU fans are still pretty fond of Tubs. He did a lot of great things for the program, ran a tight ship, and was a good guy. It was time for a change at the end, but I will always like xCTT.
Count me in the "Glad the bastard that was trying to kill our program is gone" camp.

i still think Dabo is over his head, but thanks to Kevin Steele and Chad Morris, he's getting a raise and contract extension.

I think Curley Halman would be the perfect choice to lead the Rebels "fine young men".

Dude, c'mon... look at their team. Bama fans ain't afraid of shite.
Even when Bama *IS* down and not doing well (Dubose, some of the Shula years) most Bama fans are too stupid to be afraid of shite.
