Never overestimate the intelligence of a school that had to be occupied by US troops so one black man could enroll.

It's gotta just tear your heart out to think about the 4th and 25 game and what might have been.

You DO realize the first African-American student to enroll at Texas A&M enrolled the same year as the first black student at Mississippi, right? 1962. The only reason it happened is because the school wanted to avoid a lawsuit. Not many schools can crow they are progressive as far as this subject is concerned. The first black students didn't get on campus at A&M until 1963.

Texas A&M University System Board decided to "admit qualified students regardless of race" to Arlington State College to avoid threat of lawsuit for admittance by three African-Americans.

If Mizzou only the won the East in 2013 and 2014 because the East was "down", why didn't Georgia (self proclaimed world beaters) win the weakest East in SEC history?

I have no earthly idea why you are asking me this. I've said nothing about Mizzou winning the east only because it was down. In fact, I've often said that mizzou was legit in 2013 and had an excellent team. I was not sold on your team in 2014, but that's another story.

Are you getting the threads mixed up?

Texas A&M didn't have riots and US troops on campus with fixed bayonets so one black man could enroll in class.

Your legal details were tldr. Integration was peaceful at Texas A&M.

Seriously? The only reason it is made a big deal is because they are in the south. Did you know the first southern school system to integrate was in Tennessee in 1954? Boston schools did not integrate until 1974....20 years later and they did it in the middle of riots.

Sorry. I just get a little peeved because the South is held up as the poster children for intolerance and racism, when the North was as bad, if not worse. Some of the worst race riots in the country occurred in Detroit, Boston and Chicago.

Sorry. I hijacked the thread. I should have kept my mouth shut.

Good try, though.
