That's a bullshite claim right there about MD. I know the kid and ole miss was never a finalist. LSU didn't have to outbid ole miss.

well I honestly have no idea what you're talking about outside Liggins being from Oxford. I stopped caring about him about 4 years ago or however long ago he was in high school, not that I ever really did. But fact is, Florida St was the only school that ever had a realistic shot at getting Dupre. He was thought to be a lock to LSU throughout his recruiting process. His finalists were LSU, FSU, and UCLA. Just because he took an OV to Ole Miss doesn't mean the reason you didn;t get him was because you got outbid. Every other school he looked at offers far more as a program than Ole Miss could ever dream of. This what Ole Miss fans like you fail to grasp. When you can match the facilities, history, and NFL products schools like LSU and Alabama have, then you might not have to try to "outbid" schools to get a LOI.

ETA: and yes, recruits get paid everywhere, but no every school is not giving players suitcases full of money like you want to believe

Literally 95% of the claims in this thread is bullshite.

And I know for a fact your claim of "knowing" him is one of those, "I just walked past Dupre at the mall," kind of knowings.

They're like the fluffy pillows I can't afford because I'm a poor racist Mississippian.

See, that thinking is so narrow minded, it cracks me up. In 2013, we signed the #1 overall recruit, #1 OL recruit, #1 WR recruit, and #1-2 safety recruit. One from Florida, one from Georgia, and one from Illinois. Let me guess, that logic of "match facilities, history, blah blah instead of paying" doesn't work in this instance but every other one, especially Dupre, right?

When did I say that? All I said is that they are getting paid, which you agreed with. I'm aware of the price range.

So, only I can't make baseless claims?

ok, so every single recruit's decision ends up being purely financial. got it. for a school like ole miss to convince a kid not to go to a school that actually has a good program, they have to pay the kid that much more. my point was, it's a balancing game. a school like alabama sells itself. they do opay kids something, sure, but it doesn't take a lot of convincing that it will benefit him more in the end by going to alabama than accepting a moderately bigger handout from a bottom dweller like ole miss. for ole miss to land 5 5 stars in one class in Freeze's first year, that takes a special kind of cheating

you insinuated dupre was lost by ole miss due to a bidding war. let it go bro, he's from louisiana, and ole miss was never a finalist for the kid.

i'm not sure why you're even arguing with me. you're basically agreeing with the original point i made about ole miss fans always pointing the "we got outbid" finger every time a big time program lands a recruit you wanted.

Lol. Duke Riley Dillon Gordon and dupre were all going to LSU when possible. I have no reason bullshite about that, I've been on this site for a while. Want me to call dukes mom on 3 way for you?

I clearly said only one of them was due to that, debunking your "every time" statement. If you want to think OM wasn't a finalist, that's fine. One way or the other, it doesn't matter...he's at LSU. Honestly, I don't even know what we are arguing about anymore, I just want the guy who claims to know Dupre to come back.

So

You don't know Dupre? You know Duke, who got a Plan C offer at the end?

Cool

I know Dupre too. Saw him courtside at a Pelicans game with OBJ3. Want me to get customer service at Home Depot on 3 way for you?

Since they are pretty much best friends I'd say it's pretty likely I know them both. Sounds like you're more upset that ole miss wasnt the other choice like you thought. I simply stated that it was bullshite.

I really don't care. I'm absolutely okay with Treadwell/Core/Stringfellow/Pack/Lodge/Jefferson/Engram.

Dupre can have fun blocking for Buga on sweeps.

It's a fun game but just a small piece to the puzzle.

he said Ole Miss wasn't a finalist His finalists were UCLA, FSU, and LSU. I mean if you want to base your opinions off "what you heard" then by all means

"I just felt it was right because it’s home," Dupre said. "But at the end of the day, it was a very tough decision. It was hard for me to make a decision because Florida State and UCLA were also great schools that I felt I could thrive in and have good success." - Malachi Dupre

He'll also have fun being an NFL WR.
