Stomped? The first game was won by 5 and only because the ball bounced the right way. The second game was in the wet cold when manziel had a shoulder, thumb, and ankle injury. Also, you know first hand (besides qb) that all of my comparisons are true based on your head to head matches. Also Bert hasn't shown he can win at all, with or without his own players.

Here we go with the hypothetical scenarios that don't change the fact of history. I'm sorry Manziel was injured, but you cannot discredit Chavis for coming up with a masterful game plan to stop Manziel.

Historically speaking, "Bert" has won and has gone to 3 straight BCS games (something Sumlin hasn't came close to touching) and I do think he will fix the problems at Arkansas by year 4. I'd be a fool to expect anything but growing pains the first two years.

That's more of testament to the SEC than A&M

Gene chizik would go to three straight bcs games if he coached in the B1G.

Using his logic, Muschamp is a better coach than Sumlin.

Here we go again with the hypothetical speak. A BCS bowl game is a BCS bowl game. Would you discredit Sumlin for going to three straight BCS games in the C-USA?

You make absolutely no sense. How has he proven he can't win in the SEC with his players.

Except he lost all of them.

Discount, not discredit. Especially if one was because the two teams in front were conference championship banned while his team had 8 wins (or was it 9?) and lost each one while averaging ten wins a season over that span.

Michigan State was the real B1G champ in 2010, and Wisconsin ended up with 6 losses in 2012. Some conference.

It's a testament to both. Be reasonable.

That was his final year, so he still had 2 straight leading into OSU's banned year. Regardless, you cannot "discount" or "discredit" a coach who has gone to a BCS bowl game multiple times by their BCS W/L record. If we're doing that, Bobby Bowden, Lloyd Carr, and Frank Beamer, are by definition subpar coaches.

Heisman winners and their biggest Championship

Tim Tebow-BCS Champion
Mark Ingram-BCS Champion
Can Newton - BCS Champion
John Manziel- Cotton Bowl Champion

Yea, I'd say A&M did, has, and always will underachieve.
