Those Big12 Championships weren’t SEC games

Texas A&M was a juggernaut in the 90s. OU was absolute dog crap from 1994-1998. Aggies went 4-0 against OU in that stretch. 1994 they were SWC but it started a winning streak for them.

1994 TAMU: (10-0-1)
1994 OKLA: (6-6-0)

1996 TAMU: (6-6)
1996 OKLA: (3-8)

1997 TAMU: (9-4) XII runner-up
1997 OKLA: (4-8)

1998 TAMU: (11-3) XII champion
1998 OKLA: (5-6)

Not bragging brother and yes I'd give up an overall record over winning just one of those BCS/CFP games, but that's moving the goalposts. The overall percentage isn't too far off even after the gimps are removed

ETA: that was a SEC fan talking point but we are SEC now, so you saying it now seems even more capitulatory. But those CFP losses were to great teams which skulldrug everyone, not just OU..

Alabama in particular but also Georgia to a lesser extent and even LSU managed to get through the SEC to pretty easily win the natty. Georgia did have to beat one more SEC team in 2021 to do so and Alabama had to beat another SEC team in 2017 to do so. As far as UGA is concerned to get to the playoffs UGA had to beat at least 7 SEC teams and to win a natty beat another one....and they are 1-1 at it. Georgia was as good, at times, as anyone in the nation this season yet tripped up by a FG to another conference team and wound up in the Orange Bowl instead of the playoff. It is a different league. Texas and Oklahoma are built for it but I will bet in 10 years most Texas and OU fans are on boards like these claiming its a damn site more difficult to win the SEC than it is to win a natty most years. Not every year and it may be changing and shifting to the Big10...but it is easily demonstrable that winning the SEC or the Big10 is more difficult than winning a natty.

Oklahoma won the Big12 a bunch and lost in the first round of the playoff. Texas did it this season. Most seasons, at least for the last 20 years or so, winning the Big 12 was FAR easier than winning a natty. In that same time winning the SEC CG was basically winning a natty with the reward coming a month later.

won't get an argument on the dog shite part, but aggy being a "juggernaut" must come with an *for the FedEx scandal (FedEx stock actually rose since aggy was sending so much money to recruits that way) and included bowl/tv bans. You might say they were SEC before actually joining. Of course we won't even mention your very own "Big Red Auto" thing lol.
