Herschel is still the GOAT.

The year before he arrived in Athens, Georgia was 6-5. The year after he left, they went 10-1-1, but quickly fell back to 7-4, 7-3-2, and 8-4 years.

While he was there, they went 12-0, 10-2, and 11-1 and didn't lose a single conference game. He *was* Georgia. The other 10 players on offense were just in his way.

I have to admit that all 3 are beasts. Its very rare to have players that size and speed. I'm glad I've seen some really great players. Not just running backs.

Have to be honest. I saw all three play in person multiple times.
Henry is a great back, great. But the truth is that he is no where near the back that Herschel was. And No where near the athlete that Bo was.
1) Herschel.
2) Bo.
3) Henry.
And it really isn't close.

Herschel without question was the perfect combination of power, speed and cutting ability. He is the greatest college running back of all time. People remember his power but the guy had world class speed.

Bo was probably the better athlete and of the three he had the best vision and patience to find the hole and use his line.

Henry is a beast but he doesn't belong in the conversation with those other two.

That said, he's better than LF7 at this point but not by much and LF7 will probably develop to the point he surpasses Henry and LF7 will probably have the better pro career.

I love how people can become so caught up in legends and history, that they can't see a badass motherfricker when they're right in front of them. A 6'3 240+ lbs RB that has out ran every SEC secondary, and people are skeptical if he's elite?

Henry is simple a beast. Unique running style,

I have to give credit to my dad for this comparison, but some of you older football veterans may remember a big fellow from Penn State and the Steelers named Franco Harris. I've watched some old clips of Harris' (not including the immaculate reception) and his is the closest style that I can compare Henry to. They were pretty similar physically and had unexpected top-end breakaway speed.

Henry is an outstanding RB, but I do not think he is in the Hershel/Bo conversation.

Saw all three. Saw Bo live. Saw him beat Bama and the Bear in Bryant's last Iron Bowl. Saw HW on TV and saw him win the heisman and the NC in 1980. Hard to compare BO and HW to Henry. In 1980, the average Online was 230lbs. The ave DL was 220. There were 190 lb LB in those days. Bo and HW were bigger and faster than anyone on the field. You couldn't tackle them one on one. Usually took 3 guys to get them down. They were completely dominating their competition. They both look like elite NFL players in college.

Edit this. Both Bo and HW were better than any NFL player when they were in college. They were both that good. HW didn't go to the NFL out of UGA. He went USFL? Fricked up his career. Bo went to the league but he played pro baseball too.

Steelers were my team in grade school. They were loaded. Bradshaw, Swann, Lambert, Mean Joe Green. Hard nosed blue collar team that played pisswd off. It was a major upset when they lost.

I saw all three play multiple times.

I even saw all three play in the same stadium.

Henry was the best considering the level of competition he ran against.

Forget Herschel and Bo. Is Henry even a top 10 RB in SEC history? Just recently he's not better than Mcfadden Mason or Richardson

Earl was incredible. It seemed like he looked for guys to run over.

Insert Jealousy post, anyway Henry is Top 3..but I don't think he's better than either. Booga can put his name in next year, if he takes care of business.

I saw all play numerous times.

Bo and Hershel had the ability to go 80 yds on every play. You literally held your breath every time they got the ball. We're talking 4.2 guys here. They were big enough to get you the 5 tough yds as well.

The reason I still put Bo and Walker above tho is the ability they had to go the distance. Henry doesn't have sprinters speed albeit good speed for his size.
