Yet they had 1 loss. Go figure.

I think our 2008 offense and last years defense combined could have made it to the playoffs.

'97 offense.

Manning and Jamal Lewis.

5 time MVP and a 2000 yard rusher. No big deal.

2001 defense.

Henderson and Haynesworth. I think they still have pieces of Grossmans jersey wrapped arouns their dicks.

Going a step further.

Put the 2012 offense with the 1991 team and schedule:

LSU (45-7 win): No change to result
at Tulsa (34-35 loss): Win 45-35
USL (34-7 win): Bigger margin of victory
at Texas Tech (37-14 win): Bigger margin
at #16 Baylor (34-12 win): Bigger margin
Houston (27-18 win): Bigger margin
at Rice (38-21 win): Bigger margin
at TCU (44-7 win): no change to result
Arkansas (13-3 win): Bigger margin
SMU (65-6 win): No change
Texas (31-14 win): slightly bigger margin
Florida State (2-10 loss): 20-10 win

Now put the 1991 defense with the 2012 team and schedule:

Florida (17-20 loss): 17-13 win
SMU (48-3 win): No change
SC State (70-14 win): No change
Arkansas (58-10 win): No change
Ole Miss (30-27 win): perhaps 30-20 win
Louisiana Tech (59-57 win): 59-35 win
LSU (19-24 loss): 21-14 win
Auburn (63-21 win): 63-14 win
Mississippi State (31-13 win): No change
Alabama (29-24 win): Possibly 31-21 win
SHSU (47-28 win): Possibly 49-17 win
Missouri (59-29 win): 59-17 win
Oklahoma (41-13 win): No change

Getting further outside the box, I would like to see our 2006 RB's and OL combined with our 2010 QB and WR's/TE's. Pair that with our '14 defense and we have an instant national championship team.

Our 01 team was top 5 in both scoring offense and scoring defense.

The year Bin Laden cost us a National Title (rescheduling the Tennessee game cost us Earnest Graham thanks to FSU's trademark class and dignity-- the only games Florida lost that year were without Graham).

That said-- give me the 08 Defense and .....the 08 offense, just kick them up to post-Ole Miss fluke levels of focus and I'll take them against the field- every single win by double digits- including back-to-back wins over the #1 team in the country one time without and the other time with a 50% Percy Harvin.

1996 offense and 2008 defense.

Could have went with the 2008 offense, but man, that 96 offense was basically unstoppable, with one of the best passing attacks in the land along with Fred Taylor and Elijah Williams at RB. Also thought about the 2001 offense.

They would have annihilated everyone.

Fair point, 1996's only loss was due to outright cheating (which refs apologized for) and was avenged in a way that made the 2011 Bama-LSU game look like a nailbiter.

Of course the 2011 team had a loss. There is no denying exactly how elite LSU was that year. I still stand by my statement but it is probably true for your 2011 squad as well.

I enjoy watching your offense almost as much as I enjoyed the 90's Nebraska offenses. A thing of beauty.

It really was running on all cylinders, which is what we've been waiting on since CPJ came onboard. We're expecting some drop off because of the youth/inexperience at AB, BB, and WR, but not too much - we have the perfect QB for this system.

Yep, I have been watch coach Johnson and the wrecking crew for years. I know Bama seriously considered him for our opening and I would have welcomed it. Class act and the most underrated coach in America. Good luck.

uhm, what? You don't think a top 10 final defense ranking and two shutout of ranked SEC opponents counts as stifling? Ok...

Either the 07 or 12 offense and probably the 03 defense. Some of our defenses a few decades ago were really stout but it's just such a different era so I kept mine to relatively recent.
