What was the Texas Bowl formerly known as? Or is it a relatively new Bowl?
I know UA played in the Sun Bowl when I was a kid, but I believe that was in El Paso. I don't recall a bowl in Houston, but I'm old now and memory not what it used to be, plus there's about 10-20 more Bowls than there should be.

There used to be a Houston bowl back in the day. The Texas bowl began in 2006 and became affiliated with the SEC in 2014 when the cfp system went into effect.
