Well, since I'm not a coach and I really don't know, I can only guess that he wanted to GTFO of there. However emotional he was he still walked out and shook hands, even if it was brief.
If the shoe was on the other foot I can assure you that I wouldn't blame Miles had he done that,I really couldn't blame him.
I think at that point the only thing Petrino wanted to do was GTFO and go talk to his team, but then again I'm just guessing.

It's called being a grown arse man, looking the other coach in the eye and saying good game. It's called sportsmanship. I often forget you're entire "flagship" knows nothing of that since it doesn't condone blatant hits on defenseless players.
