Hoover's a posh locale to have it...located in a retail-heavy, upscale community in one of the "Over-the-Mountain" wealthy suburbs along with Mountainbrook, Vestavia Hills.

It actually has the operation, infrastructure to efficiently deal with events like this...media, accommodations, etc.

And I think coaches like having to just go to the same central location every year.

I can choose 5 or 6 DFW areas more "posh" than Hoover.

I'd totally support a move of the SEC offices to Nashville. And I think the SEC championship game should rotate among large towns in the various SEC states...New Orleans, Houston, St. Louis, Nashville, Miami...just to name a few.

Umm yes. St. Louis would offer Busch Stadium for a Cardinals game.

New Orleans would offer unparalleled tailgating and fans could literally walk or take a street car everywhere.

Its the only show in Hoover -- the whole CFB world is Hoover-centric for a couple of days. In Nashville, they would be country music distracted. Just shows the power of the SEC that the media descends on Hoover for this. Its fine.

And please, isn't Nashville enough on its own that it doesn't have to be referred to as Nashvegas? I can understand you MSU types wanting to be called _____vegas, but let Vegas be Vegas and Nashville be Nashville

Media days isn't getting changed because SEC coaches get a chance to relax for a few days, work on their tan, and play some golf.

While the SEC media gets a chance to relax for a few days, work on their tan, and try to pick up dancers at the horrifying Green Frog Cafe.

It isn't going to happen.

Why? SEC HQ are in B'ham. Much more manageable traffic situation getting to the Wynfreybin Hoover than anywhere around Nashville.

It's just a bunch of press conferences anyway...

Miami for an SEC Championship? Do you not realize where Gainesville is in relation to Miami?

As far as St. Louis goes, Mizzou fans have had trouble getting to ATL because shitty weather so why would we want to make other fans go endure bad weather and a game at a terribly outdated dome?

Houston is central to literally two SEC west schools. Awful.

Yes, Miami...

A lot is going on in St. Louis in terms of development...

The whole point of a rotation is to be able to see new things, make new friends, experience something different each time.

I can't see that as anything but a good thing.

St Louis also has a possible new stadium in the works on the riverfront. I agree that the game should rotate through some different cities, but we should only be considered if that stadium gets built.

The Dome pretty much sucks arse. Although, I'm sure there would be plenty of crying because it might be cold.
