It really does look like a Mickey Mouse operation down there every year.

Naw move it to Charlotte since that's where Finebaum lives now.

Which city is the geographic center of the conference? That city should have the SEC offices and media days.

Bingo, and I mean who bitches about where media days are held?

So when mizzou and tamu were added, the geographic center remained the same?

Why should fans care where the media days are held?

It's embarrassing to the conference. National media being subjected to that airport and town for a few days.

And yet, they still go.

You wanna link where I said that? All I said is that wherever the center is, that is where the offices should be.

Nope. It's not going anywhere.

I want to mark for the record, he is NOT an LSU fan.

The geographic midpoint of the 12-team SEC was just south of Blountsville, Ala. Using an alternate calculation that uses average latitude and longitude, the center remains roughly the same. Using the center of minimum distance (i.e., where would you want to be located to minimize the miles traveled to each location), the midpoint shifts a tad closer to Interstate 65, near the Smoke Rise exit.
Any way you slice it, the old midpoint was between Birmingham and Cullman in the heart of Alabama.
Now it's moving west.
According to the calculations you can review here, the new geographic center is just south of Haleyville. The center of minimum distance is in nearby Nauvoo.

It's not really a big deal to me, but it certainly doesn't do a thing to quell the racist, redneck stereotype that plagues our league and region.
Nashville would be much, much better for a million different reasons.

I knew someone would do the math.
Until the geographic center changes the location of the offices shouldn't change.

Destin would be much better; but, might hurt people's vacation plans.

We could just move it to the HOF since the SEC is the GOAT
