We made fun of Houston Nutt because of his hilariously bad offensive decisions and his over dedication to the run.

That being said.. If Matt Jones had been the QB with Darren McFadden and Felix Jones, the entire state would have been calling for him to run the triple option and never throw a fricking pass ever.

It depends on personnel and effectiveness.

Citadel ran a Flex Bone not a Wing T

When you watch the game against South Carolina they basically ran out of a Wing T set. They optioned like a flexbone team, but they ran out of a flat Wing T more often then not. With, it should be said, wishbone, broken bone, and even some flexbone three wide sets.

Which was a brilliant decision on their part because without the pre snap movement of the traditional flexbone USCe didn't have much to key off of. Given that the USCe DC hadn't defended the option in decades it was a solid choice that gave Citadel a key schematic advantage.

Given how utterly out-manned they were it might have been the best play calling of the season. It would not have worked for someone used to defending the triple option (witness their games against the good teams in their conference) but for someone as lost as the USCe DC was it was damn near magic.

It was the Flex they ran it since 2014 when Houston was hired. I don't know what they'll run now they got new HC.

I think I would puke if Georgia ever came out and started trying to run the Oregon or Baylor offense. Those offenses work in their conferences, but they don't work against SEC caliber defensive lines.

Delusional.

Oregon 59
Tennessee 14

Oregon 48
Tennessee 13

Baylor would hang 50+ on over half that league before you even knew what hit you.

LSU and Auburn stuffed that Oregon offense. Stanford stopped them cold two years in a row. Those Tennessee teams were horrible.

Uoure joking I hope? You're using examples from 5 plus years ago.

Look at recent games to make your point. Alabama was shredded by tOSU and Clemson in terms of yards and points. Ole Miss runs it, MSU runs it, they went to NY6 games past two years.

Baylor's offense would most certainly work in the SEC. Their OL are huge. It's all power run.

Baylor and Oregon do not look for the same type of personnel outside of a mobile QB. Baylor is much more power run oriented.

If our offense switched from sucking to not sucking, it might take me a while to accept it, but I'm nothing if not open to change, however new and scary it might be.

Arkansas decided to run the Run n Shoot and not use the TE at all.

More sad than mad.
