May have misused classic, but it was really just meant to be old and relatively old out of conference non-bowl games.
And 1997 was 20 years ago at this point.......

He's talking about there being no SEC teams in them.

Well, they are SEC teams now, and those were OOC games for them then, so.......

Know what both of those games had in common? The head coach at that time had been a career d-line coach that we promoted to HC b/c he was "one of us". Weird, huh?

I believe SC leads the all-time series with NC State 37-36-?.
The picture below isn't from that old a game, but I'd like to highlight that we played Russell Wilson twice. The first game he went out with an injury and NC State scored 0 points. The second game NC State only scored 3 points in Raleigh (we scored a gentleman's 7)
And that is indeed now-Pats starting CB Stephon Gilmore. Many credit his decision to play for us is what turned the program around.

I remember that game.
It was the first game of the college football season in 2009 and on a Thursday night.

Gotta give that guy credit for not reacting to the person beside him.
However, isn't that another orange thing/person to his right (hard to see clearly).

What do any of the following games have to do with the SEC?

Some Old Oklahoma vs Tennessee
Oklahoma vs Tennessee 1936
1921 Georgia Tech Vs Auburn (Technically, neither were in the SEC at the time...both were Southern Conference Members)
1914 Tulane vs LSU (again...not SEC...both Southern Conf)
1926 Alabama vs Washington
1994 Tennessee vs UCLA (Peyton Manning's fist college action)

From the Orange Bowl versus a favored Navy team:
LINK
Mizzou very easily could have been national champs that year, especially had the voting not taken place prior to the bowl season.
James Wilder here. He carried those old God awful Tampa Bay teams on his back, becoming the first NFL RB to top 400 carries in one season.
