Arkansas will not see any offenses going forward that have been near what the first half of the schedule was

Yea, not even close.

However, I do think that run defense is going to have some serious issues with Auburn and LSU. They just get blocked too easily. Ole Miss just couldn't exploit it.

Disagree.

The core of the rush defense is fine. The issue is with a QB that is a threat to run. Just go and look at last seasons defensive stats. Its the achilles heal of DC Rob Smith.

If an offense doesn't have a threat at QB to run the ball, we can shut it down. Hence, big rushing numbers from TCU, Alabama, aTm, and Ole Miss.

LSU, Auburn, State, Missouri, Florida, do not have that threat at QB. Going forward, the rush defense for Arkansas will improve and likely end up being pretty good.

Now, they've gotten beat up pretty good by them, but that could just be proof that they are a slightly below average defense, not necessarily a historically bad one.

If not for Arkansas' offense holding the ball for 40 minutes a game, this defense would be on pace for a historically bad season.

Interesting, very possible. Maybe it's just a sideline to sideline thing. I did notice that Alabama ran a whole bunch of shotgun, side to side power plays to get Arkansas out in space and seal.

I think that would be a bit of an issue with Auburn, but shouldn't be with LSU.

I'm looking forward to that Arkansas-Auburn game. It should be wild.

Again, they've played 4 Top 20 offenses so far. Now they play Auburn, Mississippi State, LSU and Florida. If they get run out of the stadium against those teams, then yea.

So much this

Not saying that we will be great going forward but that was such a huge factor when it came to the run defense for us.

Last week FPI had Arkansas losing out. Pretty sure that is what he is referring to.

That is when Arkansas will pay too much attention to the QB. Hurts is a legit threat to run. Smith seems to commit too much against running QBs to trying to shut down one portion of the read.

White isn't much of a threat to break one, so I would think the goal this week is to just key on the RB and not focus too much on White.

Kenny Hill, Hurts, Kelly, and Knight are all running QBs capable of breaking one at any time with a blown assignment.

Yea, I think White's threat is more of play action quick stuff. But he isn't a home run threat to run, for sure.

Be curious to watch this weekend. Good measuring stick game for both teams, and fun styles to contrast. Plus, I'll watch Austin Allen anytime he's on TV.
