What's with the rumors about him exceeding the practice hours, and lying to Jacobs about the pitching session?
He had bullpen sessions with 4 or more players and a coach during the summer. That constitutes and official practice, which during the summer is a violation. Someone had a video and pictures of this and gave them to Jacobs. Jacobs confronted Golloway about it and he lied to Jacobs face. Jacobs showed he had evidence and he fired Golloway.

The lawyer brought up Jacobs giving Pearl a 2nd chance, but that is not a legal defense for Golloway
That's what I thought was really crazy about an official statement.

And who the hell had a big enough axe to grind with Sunny that they'd video and take pictures of the bullpen session?
Shouldn't the players know they aren't supposed to practice with the coaches in the summer?

Golloway is an a-hole. Oklahoma people said so when we hired him. Joe Simpson, former OU player and LA Dodgers player, who announces for the braves, was vocal in saying Golloway is a bad dude.
Once again, we're paying the price for a fricked up hire.

Perhaps the pictures and video include him in attendance? Pure speculation on my part, but my guess is there was evidence tying him to knowing about the sessions or they wouldn't have fired him for lying about it.

Would Casey Dunn be in the running?

This comes from a former player:
quote:
Aight. So heres what happened to put the nail in the coffin for CSG. Soctt Duval runs the summer Auburn baseball camp for high school kids. He is in charge of the whole thing. Coach Jenkins was a volunteer to help the camp. On the last day of the camp Sonny went out there told Scott that it was the worst camp that he'd ever seen in his life and that Scott wasn't going to get paid for it. He said the same thing to coach Jenkins. And they never got paid like they were supposed to. A couple weeks later some pitchers were throwing bullpen with coaches, which is a NCAA infraction and some of our pitchers could get ruled ineligible for it. Coach Duval sees this going on and snaps a couple of pictures and videos. He took the pictures to Jacobs. Jacobs called Sonny into his office and asked him if the pitchers were throwing during the summer illegally. Sonny says no then Jacob shows him the videos, catching Sonny in a lie. Duval had been treated as poorly as some of the players and had enough of CSG's bs.

Probably the guy he stiffed for running the summer camps. Golloway said they were the worst camps he had ever seen and didn't pay the guy. The AD had to fix that.

Supposedly Dunn doesn't want the job anymore.

quote:He took AU to the finals for the first time in ages, and hauled in a top 10 recruiting class. Maybe he was a total dick, but looks like he had things headed in the right direction. Of course if he knowingly broke NCAA rules and lied to his boss, then his firing is justified and he deserves no compensation.

But at least your "fricked up hires" were recruiting well. Just like when Malzahn took over from Chizik, the next baseball coach at Auburn will inherit some good players.
So there's that...

What's going on with your baseball program? I know I saw something posted yesterday about Golloway being fired for compliance issues, but this seems extra contentious given this statement from Golloway's attorney John Saxon.
Most don't want him gone that have no insight of him. I posted in a thread on the Auburn board the other day that I spoke with an ex-Ole Miss pitcher that had several friends that played for him at Oklahoma. he told me that Sunny can put on a great face and recruit his arse off and then when you get there everything flips and he is a piece of shite to be around.
