I'm going White. Sorry, but too many Alabama CB's who are "premier top flight CBs" that end up being complete shite when they get to the pros. LSU may not be the driving force it used to be but goddamn do we produce talent.

At some point, especially if SC becomes sucessful, Ja'Marcus King may be a name to watch. From what I've seen this kid is a stud in the making.

Tabor was better than Hargreaves last year. He defended 18 passes last year, four of those were interceptions, and two of those were returned for touchdowns. He allowed a passer rating of 33.0 when thrown against, which is the lowest of all returning corners. He was thrown against 52 times and gave up 19 completions for 190 yards all of last season.

Unless White is just spectacular against the run, he's not as good as Tabor.

Marlon Humphrey and Minkah Fitzpatrick are great cover corners who will lay you the frick out as well. Saban struck gold with those two.

I wish I had a good database of stats... but what I've found was that Tre white is only targeted 13.5% of the time on passing plays. His completion percentage allowed is 23.4%. Looking at 2014 for example... 385 pass attempts on LSU, he would be targeted 52 times while only allowing 13 completions and just 1 passing TD all year.

From a scout:
LINK
quote:

Tre'Davious White, LSU
Target rate: 13.5 percent
Burn rate: 23.4 percent
White's burn rate is one of the lowest I've ever seen, so I studied tape of him earlier this summer to get a better feel for him. White completely outplayed 2015 second-rounder Jalen Collins in their matchup against Alabama's Amari Cooper and showed a tremendous amount of twitch and fluidity in his movement.

Opposing teams clearly saw the same thing, as they targeted White just 13.5 percent of the time, which was the second lowest target rate of the players I studied. With elite feet and recovery twitch, White allowed only one touchdown in 2014, but he did allow 18 yards per completion (though there weren't many completions against him). The knocks on White? His ball skills need work and he's not a very physical player.

He is as good as Tabor.. IMO.

Tabor is most likely to be the first one drafted followed by Humphrey . White is good but he is not the best .

Tabor's mouth and twitter handle are going to keep him from being the first corner off the board.

I think he is the best pure cover corner coming out this year, though.

We'll see as the year goes along. He didn't play week one, and was only targeted 3 times against UK, with 0 completions and a pick.

Everyone thinks that their team has the best this and the best that...understandable...but I can watch with an impartial eye and I see what pro scouts are seeing in Jalen Tabor...UF plays man a lot and our corners are very very physical. Tabor just completely deflates his opponents with his physical style and they get frustrated when they cant get open.

He and his corner mate Quincy Wilson made picks last weekend that were highlight reel material.....doesnt matter who the opponent was...they stole the cheese and another DB who will play on Sundays is Marcus Maye at safety who also made a pick. DBU? Please dont even think about it. QBs are scared to death to throw on our corners with the fear of being picked off and that little hesitation is just enough to be planted in the ground by DL/LBs.

Its incredible to see all these A&M fans jump to the defense of Marlon Humphrey. If I didn't know otherwise, I would think he played for A&M based off the responses.

White has been solid his entire career, including his freshman year. He's turned it up a notch so far this year though. Hopefully he can keep it up.

I don't follow players from other schools when they get to the NFL, but who other than PP7 has been a great CB in the NFL lately out of LSU?

I'm a big Tabor fan, but come on man. You can't start off by saying everyone's a homer and picking their own guy and then say you are impartial... then go on a complete homer paragraph about the whole Gator defense.

Claiborne has gone from terrible to mediocre. Tharold Simon has struggled with injuries, but he was decent when on the field for Seattle. The most surprising is Ron Brooks. He's been a really solid nickle for Buffalo and now Philly.

Rashard Robinson also graded out highly last week, but it's only been one game.

So a lot of solid players and one straight up baller, basically?

Basically

ETA: Arizona just signed Simon as well. After the way their rookie got roasted he may be starting for them sooner than later.

They love them some LSU DBs.

Not he best in the SEC at all and haven't noticed him much this year but Kevin Toliver really impressed me last year as a true freshman
