" you have any idea what it has/had to be like for him and his family to have such a cloud hanging over his head"
They created their own cloud. It's called reaping what you sow. I feel for them in that they appear to be hardened and unrepentant about the whole ordeal. Like one media outlet said "deny till you die"

Yeah sure you're a pastor. Most pastors I know openly admit to being jealous (sinful) and also insult the way someone speaks.
Pastor.... yeah right!

Secondly, Cam just took one of the most glorious truths from Romans 8 about our Salvation in Christ and used it as a statement about himself and his football career. Seriously, that is an all time level of arrogance and audacity.
Pride cometh before the fall. It will happen in its own time.

Justified or not, you have any idea what it has/had to be like for him and his family to have such a cloud hanging over his head despite all the great accomplishments he was hanging? You're pretty cold for a preacha man.
Wait just a minute........ Now we're being asked to feel sorry for him and take pity because his family got caught cheating, he got busted for possessing stolen property, got busted for cheating in class THREE times, and you feel he's been misunderstood? How about asking HIM to show some humility and understanding for probably tarnishing the greatest amateur sport ever dreamed by being so self absorbed with his own personal agenda, ignoring the consequences to others.
Let me guess, you also want to try to rehabilitate a 6 time murder suspect because he's misunderstood. There's not a more appropriate example of what is wring with today's society.
Geez!!!

Quoting the Bible is great -- if you quote it accurately and in context. If you are not quoting them in context then you are stealing God's word, making them your own, and using them for your own selfish desires. It is the ultimate form of pride. The son of a pastor should know better. But then again, I think I have read quotes where his dad misuses the Scripture to justify his own actions. This a terrible example for young athletes who are already struggling with the temptations of pride. Cam would have done himself and others good if he would have quoted a verse about forgiveness, mercy or something like that - He should thank God for treating us in ways we don't deserve, saving us by grace.

Nobody really has to reach. All you need to do is look at his webCam clips to see who he really is.
I wouldn't care if it was Mark Ingram I'd criticize him too. Thuggery isn't pretty in any form. Unfortunately these are the type of kids who make up a lot of college football because they emulate their heroes in the NFL. But what do you expect when college football is nothing more than a farm league for the NFL?

LOL. If you're talking about me. Still around. To set it straight. Jesus told a crowd full of religious, arrogant posers not to throw rocks at a woman caught in sin. He told his followers that you know a tree by it's fruit. I'm just observing some fairly nasty fruit. It kind of rubs me wrong when another pastor is exposed in this sort of thing. I guess I take it pretty personal.

the bible also says that you will know people by the fruit that they produce. there comes a point and time when we don't have to judge him his "fruit" and his actions speak for themselves. You are what you are.
