It was further fueled when some Mizzou poster put up a thread about other SEC folks supporting Mizzou when they played in Rupp during the NCAA.
Come now. If that is in reference to me, and I think it is, the drift of my comments at the time and now was about the fact Louisville was playing in your own arena and UK fans, to the extent UL is a true bitter rivalry, should have wanted to fill the place to root against the Cards. I said that because I have little doubt that if ku played an NCAA tournament game in Columbia MO, or if Mizzou played an NCAA tournament game in Lawrence ks, the stands would be very very full of locals who turned up solely to boo and root against their arch rival.
That was always my gist, it never had anything to do with UK or other SEC fan bases coming to root "for" Mizzou in Lexington out of conference solidarity, or, more to the point, to essentially do our job of traveling to the game for us since we didn't, which is what you attempt to twist it into. Was I attempting to poke fun at the UK-UL rivalry and call its passion into question a little bit? Yes, and that was done in a mildly trolling manner so if it got you riled my bad. But it definitely had nothing to do with wanting UK fans there just to fill the stands on Mizzou's behalf.
At any rate, we moved past that one and I did think it was water under the bridge. If it wasn't before it should be now. It is on my end.

Aggie fans you need to shut up about Mizzou until your team can consistently beat them.
We're 8-6 against Mizzou. Just saying.

Let's see where you are after 12 games. My guess is 9-3 best case. Probably 8-4.
That's probably right. In a year in which we were predicted by most to go 5-7, 7-5 best case.

Sorry, this thread is now reserved for debates over Mizzou wrestling, Alabama rowing, and two year old women's basketball game threads. Your input is no longer relevant, but thanks for stopping by, and saw 'em off.

I don't necessarily think its a question of bias. I think you genuninely want Mizzou wrestling, a successful sport on the national level, to be among the SEC's pride points. It helps the SEC and you are all for that. But my bottom line is it ignores, indeed disrespects, the MAC as a legit D1 conference to do so. Being in the MAC is not a club sport. It's a legit D1 wrestling conference.
Exactly!
With your explanation I can at least see kilo's getting worked up about it. We may not agree on how you view the "orphan" sports but I appreciate you explaining it. I really do.
quote:
Same goes with Alabama and Tennessee rowing. They are Big 12 rowing teams.
This may be why my view is the way it is. No way to accept any SEC school as other Big 5 anything! EVER!
To me orphan sports do not represent true parents.
Mizzou wrestling = orphan, SEC = true home
Tide and Vol rowing = orphan, SEC = true home
Vandy bowling = orphan, SEC = true home
UK Rifle = orphan, SEC = true home
OM Rifle = orphan, SEC = true home
UK soccer = orphan, SEC = true home
USC soccer = orphan, SEC = true home
Viewed another way, where you park your primary sports is where you own
Viewed another way, where you park your orphan sports is where you rent
If the SEC had wrestling, the Mizzou wrestling program would not be in the MAC. Same with all the other orphan sports. They are only there because they have no home in their home conference. If 2 more SEC schools add rowing, rifle, or soccer then they will no longer be in their orphan conferences. Lets say Mizzou wrestles in the MAC, do they get a slice of the revenues from MAC football, basketball, or baseball? Even flip it, does the MAC get part of the SEC money? Orphans are not orphans by choice but by necessity. This is probably why I take the view I do.

That is a UT Martin thread. I am talking about an SEC vs SEC game thread! Pretty sure it was Mizzou vs one of the SEC west teams.

I'm pretty sure you're just a liar.

frick are you talking about? I haven't seen Ags talk about Mizzou at all. Bashing the east maybe - but all west teams have. The east sucks this year.
That said. Indiana.

Can you find the original thread you posted? Maybe it was yours and maybe it was another one? I just remember I actually went to the game to root for Mizzou and even had dinner with some Tiger fans who were there. The only reason I went was because of the post and wanting to help out the new SEC folks. No reason to go to watch the Cards play and spend that kind of money to add to their attendance numbers.
I think the tickets were like 100 bucks face but double or triple because UL was playing in Rupp and every line beard for miles around wanted tickets. If Mizzou was not there I would have avoided Rupp and downtown all together that series of games. The arena is downtown and too much traffic and too many 1 way streets to deal with those hassles.

Looks like the devils pitchfork.
Fook the Hoosiers and damn the Tigers for losing to them.

It's a shame we can't have one Mizzou related thread without your turdball posts.

If you're going to troll, just come right out with it. This passive-aggressive crap is just awful.
